Network Marketing 2006

I believe that 2006 is going to be one of the best years ever for Network Marketing and more Network Marketers than ever before will shun the hypesters and join the wave of real people that really network and simply tell the truth.

2006 is the year of MLM 2.0. Check out the MLM Manifesto and leave your comments.

If you don't "get" the MLM Manifesto, have a look at the 95 theses of the Cluetrain Manifesto. I am also "in talks" with a couple of other people that I hope will come on board and help me with the project.

Happy New Years - Inspiration

I continue to be totally impressed with Andrew McLellan's blog:

I hope we all had a fun and safe time spent with family and friends. I don’t know about you, but I’m personally very excited to start a new year of working my business. In the new year, there will be many people who have made the resolution that targets our business and maybe even our products.

New Year’s Resolution #1 - I want to earn more money part time (maybe something from home)

New Year’s Resolution #2 - I want to [lose weight, eat better, look better, find more energy] or whatever your target market is.

This is a great opportunity to find people who are looking to do these things. Resolutions are a casual topic around New Year’s. How you choose to respond it completely up to you.

Just try to remember, that not many people like a salesman’s approach - so keep it casual, simple, and non-threatening.Have fun and be safe!

Winters Breaks From Britt?

WintersTwo seperate and unrelated sources have told me that Larry Winters Quixtar Team has broken away from Bill Britt's BWW. A possible suitor for Winter's is World Wide Dreambuilders - WWBD, as several high ranking WWDB Diamonds have recently spoke at Winters conventions.

For those of you that may not understand the terminology, in english, Larry Winters is possibly taking his lucrative books, cd's, and meetings money out of the hands of Bill Britt and either striking out with his own system or joining with another system such as WWDB.

Larry Winters was featured in the Dateline NBC expose' on Quixtar and later called the show a "satatic attack".

You Need A Dream

Yes, you may need a dream but there must be more. I'm all for dreams. No one succeeded only by dreaming. This is the first step in a progression that must conclude with activity in order to achieve it's form in reality. No one can do the dreaming for you nor set the goals necessary so you cannot expect anyone to do the work for you. Guard against those that tell you their system works, it's your "dream" that is the problem.

A Free Report from Author, Mark Yarnell

Best Selling author, Mark Yarnell announces that his first publication in a new six part series of reports called the Millionaire Master Plan will be distributed free to the public via the Internet.

Yarnell reports that the Internet is the best way to accomplish this mission. “Many people are losing their jobs and pensions and are forced to find alternative ways to make a living for their family while others are looking for ways to bring a second income home. Network Marketing remains the most viable form of business available to the masses. To ensure as many people as possible succeed in this new world order regardless of the Network Marketing company they choose, it is vital they get off to the right start and we intend to help them.”

Mark Yarnell co-founded the High Road to Success along with Bob Duncan and Joe Willett in 2005. The High Road is an online training program (http://www.hightroadtosuccess.com), heralded as the only program of its type for Network Marketing Professionals.

With the release of The High Road and Yarnell’s six Millionaire Master Plan Reports, Networkers will now have access to 21st century Network Marketing concepts, strategies and techniques.

All six of Yarnell’s Reports will be provided as a bonus to those who join the High Road training program. The first one called, “Follow the Reader” will remain free to the public.

Is it the Person or the Company?

I find it interesting that what a person's introduced to a company, they may NOT be interested in the company but they'll fall in love with the person who introduced it to them. No matter what information is there about the company, they really like the person that introduced it to them and they got along very well.

This is dangerous when personal feelings take over your business decisions for you. Sure it's necessary to have a sponsor that you get along with, but you also want a company that's workable.

Even though this is a relationship business, keep in mind that it is, above all else, still a business. When you're doing something as important as choosing a company, please don't let personal feelings cloud your judgment. Take your personal feelings into consideration - but don't let them dictate your decisions.

Network Marketing Inspiration

MLM is a service business

The two obvious secrets of every service business

every one...

1. Take responsibility
2. Pay attention to detail

The thing that's so surprising is how little attention is paid to these two, how often we run into people (business to business or b2c) who are totally clueless about them.

You'd be stunned to see a hotel clerk stealing money from the till or a bartender smashing bottles or a management consultant drawing on the client's wall with a magic marker. But every single day, I encounter "that's not my job" or "our internet service is outsourced, it's their fault." More subtle but more important are all the little details left untended.

All the magazine ads (or Quixtar blogs) in the world can't undo one lousy desk clerk. All businesses are service business and experience is the product...

Merry Christmas

Living2 I want to take this moment to wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Luke 2:4-6

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Quixtar Contacting

It's almost as if they want you to think they are from another planet...

I was shopping at Ikea searching for a new Computer Desk when a young fellow, a couple years older than me (I’m 19) randomly came up to me and asked me a couple questions about my personal life. What is your name? What are you doing here at Ikea? Do you go to school? Work? At first, I thought maybe he was interested in me and wanted to ask me out on a date? Or the other possibility was that he was a Jehovah’s Witness or a member from my parent’s church (Baptist). I had no clue what I expected.

He started telling me how I can start making money with his business, which was a Internet Business that taught people how to run their own business using the internet. I listened to what he had to say, and I was interested to hear what the business proposition was. I started to get anxious as I noticed he wasn’t getting to the point, and I hinted to him that I was in a hurry and had to get going (I didn’t look at him while he was speaking and kept on looking over at the desks). He said he also had to go as he was also looking for a desk, but wanted to meet with me in person and would later have to give me a call. He gave me a piece of paper with his contact information and asked for my information.

You know you've made a wrong turn when...

...you have to explain why your company is not a cult in the faq section of your web site.

Quixtar Cult?

Not at all a cult. The Quixtar business, as with other business, has a distinct culture defined by shared business goals...

Meet Ken Bagnasco, Former Quixtar IBO

BagnascoKen Bagnasco grew up in Montauk, NY and is now an Air Traffic Controller for the Federal Aviation Administration residing with his family in Virginia.

Kenny will make over $4,000 in his first month with the Passport Team within Univera LifeSciences. After laboring for 16 years in Quixtar without making any real profit, Kenny and his family are on pace for tremendous success with Univera LifeSciences.

Ken's wife, Kelly grew up in Bradenton Beach, Florida. After getting married she gave up her nursing career to be a stay-at-home Mom and has been enjoying every minute of it. Any free time she has now is spent with various clubs and kid activities.

They have two wonderful children who are growing up real fast. Their youngest was just recently adopted from Belarus and is doing great.

I am proud to be in business with Ken and Kelly Bagnasco and the team of people involved with the Bagnasco's around the nation.

You can contact Kenny at ken@bagnasco.com

Merry Christmas - Quixtar Donates $2.2 Million

Yahoo Finance:

As part of its One by One Campaign for Children, Quixtar Inc. (http://www.Quixtar.com ) is donating $2.2 million in gifts to NBC's Today Show Toy Drive. Aimed at young teens, Quixtar's donation includes CD/MP3 players, Mogu dolls, watches and ARTISTRY® cosmetics. The gifts are being shipped to 15 non-profit organizations across the country for delivery to disadvantaged children -- perhaps the only gift the kids will receive this holiday season.

"We're proud to support the Today Show Toy Drive through our corporate giving program, the One by One Campaign for Children," said Jim Payne, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Quixtar. "One by One is all about making a difference in the lives of children here in the U.S. and around the world. We hope our gift will brighten the holidays for these kids and their families."

Jim Payne will appear briefly on the Today Show next Tuesday, December 20, at either 8:30 or 9 a.m. to briefly talk about Quixtar's donation.

I applaud Quixtar for the donation. At the same time, I find it a little puzzling that the donation went through the Today Show on NBC. NBC was the Network that did the Quixtar Expose' - Dateline Investigation. Can we assume there will be no follow up?

Network Marketing Lens Coming Together

My Network Marketing Squidoo Lens is coming together nicely. I cracked the Squidoo Top 100 at # 91 out of 7199 lenses!

A lens is basically a web site that brings a person's point of view on a subject into focus. I have links to the blogs that I write, bio information and I am in the process of putting together my 5 best posts from the last 2 years of blogging. Squidoo is still in Beta so there are a few glitches, (my picture doesn't always show up and one of my modules seems to be missing) but overall it's a pretty cool tool.

The lens seems to be Google friendly as well, my lens is listed at number 10 on Google when my name is searched.

Washington Governor Welcomes Univera

The following is a clip from Washington State Governor, Gary Locke's January 2004 speech welcoming Univera to Washington. Univera is the parent company of Univera LifeSciences, Aloecorp and Unigen.

Family "We are thrilled that Univera’s move to Washington state is now a reality. This will mean more jobs for our state – ultimately generating some 300 good-paying jobs for the citizens of Lacey and the surrounding South Sound area.

Univera’s move to Washington state is yet another success of our trade missions. It is further proof that our trade missions pay off, and create jobs for our citizens.

For international trade to be successful, it is dependent upon building and nurturing personal relationships.

Univera is exactly the kind of company that we’re working to attract to Washington state. It is a biotechnology company, deriving vitamins, soaps and cosmetics from aloe plants. Univera is a holding company for three separate companies:

· Aloecorp is a multinational company that provides only the best biologically active Aloe Vera raw material worldwide.

· Oasis Wellness Network (Univera LifeSciences) is the world’s leading anti-aging company, committed to carrying out scientific research and development of innovative and natural products that promote quality of life.

· Unigen Pharmaceuticals is a leading natural products research and development company and proprietary ingredients supplier."

My Univera LifeSciences Tour

Oasis_frontThis picture is the front of the Univera building. Univera is the parent company to Univera LifeSciences, Aloecorp and Unigen Pharmaceuticals. I took this picture with my cell phone from across the street. (click the picture to get the larger view) I believe they refer to this building as Univera West, but the building is only temporary as they have plans to build a new 40 acre campus complete with spa, hotel and conference center nearby.

Here is a brief explanation of the ECONET:

Aloecorp (www.aloecorp.com) is a multinational company providing research-proven, bioactive Aloe vera ingredients to world markets.  Aloecorp’s corporate philosophy is to “bring the best of nature to mankind,” and does so with its bioactive, standardized Aloe vera that guarantees 10% polysaccharides by weight, and is clinically proven to enhance the activity of Native Aloe Gel.  Since its inception in 1988, Aloecorp has been the world’s leading vertically integrated supplier of raw Aloe vera materials to the dietary supplement, functional food, cosmeceutical, personal care and pharmaceutical industries.

Univera LifeSciences (www.oasislifesciences.com), the world’s leading healthy aging company, is committed to helping people “feel younger longer.”  The company is dedicated to carrying out scientific research and development of innovative and natural products that promote quality of life.  Oasis is the only natural products company—perhaps in the world—with full-scale genomic, proteomic and biological research capabilities that produce a unique, efficacious line of healthy aging products.

Unigen Pharmaceuticals (www.unigenpharma.com) is a leading natural products research and development company and proprietary ingredients supplier.  The company is dedicated to the discovery of botanically derived therapeutic compounds for use in cosmeceutical, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical products that address consumer health needs and help improve the quality of human life.  Its research and discovery process includes extensive work at both the human cell and gene level.

Trust the Lord?

I am a christian. I believe that Jesus Christ died a horrible death for my sins and that I am saved by his grace.

However, I do not believe that the Lord has asked us to set aside all of the other gifts he has given us (the ability to think logically, research and consider all options) and trust some guy on the Internet that claims he is a christian.

I am pretty sure that God didn't pay for the guys Google Adsense budget.

Aging Baby Boomers

courant.com:

After a century of nearly uninterrupted medical improvements and longer lives, it looks like the baby boomers could screw things up.

A new government study shows deaths from heart disease, cancer and stroke continue to drop, but it also shows that half of Americans ages 55 to 64 - including the oldest of the baby boomers - have high blood pressure, and two in five are obese.

This means that this large group of aging Americans is in worse shape in some respects than those born a decade earlier were when they were the same age.

Medical improvements in coming years might offset these problems before they affect life expectancy, but there are no promises, health officials said.

"The late 50s and early 60s are a crucial time to focus on disease prevention," said Dr. Julie Gerberding, director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. "It's never too late to adopt a healthy lifestyle to enjoy a longer, healthier life."

Univera LifeSciences Tour: Customer Service

TyThis is a picture of the customer service department at Univera LifeSciences. The picture was taken after 7PM Pacific Time so there isn't any activity, but the two times I have been to the headquarters during business hours, it was bustling.

The Univera LifeSciences customer service department has 30  associates and the ones that I have spoken with have been very helpful.

Network Marketing Squidoo Lens

My Network Marketing Squidoo Lens is under construction.

Logosquidoo_2

From my post at MLM Business Opportunities Blog:

When a person enters a blog from the main page, they are seeing the most current post, however the most current post may not be the most important post. Squidoo provides a way to bring the most relevant information (from your perspective) on a topic to the forefront.

Here is a good starting place if you would like to find out more about Squidoo.

Univera LifeSciences Tour

I promised to blog about my Univera LifeSciences tour, but I haven't had time to upload the pictures and compile my notes. I have received a number of emails asking about the post and I will have it up soon.

Quixtar's Stellar IBOs

Another Quixtar IBO crosses the line.

This is beginning to look like one of those, "what the hell?" weeks in Quixtar News.

First we had the semi-naked model trying to get you to buy Quixtar products, now we have the Quixtar On The Road Racial Slur Blog.

What's next? Mass firings and Dexter getting kicked off the board? Oops. Did I type that?

Awesome Awesome Awesome

Awesomeshirt If you are involved in a business (See Interbiz) and your whole goal is to try to figure out a way to contact people so that they don't know you are involved with the business, please quit. I am begging you. Get out of the industry.

Is it any wonder why Quixtar, Casey Comden, and Interbiz have a horrible reputation?

Also, if the business is so AWESOME (the Interbiz recording must say Awesome about 50 times), why can't you tell your prospect what it is?

More Impressed With Univera LifeSciences

I promise to blog about the tour I took at Univera LifeSciences before I lay my head down on Sunday night. I am actually more impressed with Univera LifeSciences today than I was after touring.

Here's why:

1. The President and Chief Science Officer of Univera LifeSciences, Steve Cherniske invited me, a business partner and his son today to his home today in order to talk about the science behind the products (sadly, we couldn't make it). I don't recall having Doug Devos invite me over.

2. I recieved an unsolicited email today:

A FRIEND HAS RECOMMENDED THE ABOVE PRODUCT (Univera LifeSciences Ageless Xtra) TO ME.  IT HAS WORKED WONDERS FOR HER MOTHER.  IS THERE ANYONE SELLING THIS ON HAWAII ISLAND?
I sent the email on to one of my guys in Hawaii, who was very happy with the lead.

I turned away for a minute and...

...my dog stole my Ageless Xtra off of my desk. Interestingly enough, his name is Bandit.

EMPTY SPACE

That's right. None. Zip. Nada. Not one bit of nutrition. I would like to now return Monavie associates to their regularly scheduled dose of juice and scripture.

Crazy Day

Yesterday was a crazy day for me. I spent most of the day at Univera LifeSciences working with their corporate leadership regarding the Passport LLC transition.

The rest of this week is going to be pretty crazy as well. I pick up Bo Short at the airport on Wednesday and then on Thursday we will be having lunch with Stephen Cherniske, Stuart Ochiltree and other Univera LifeSciences leadership, followed by a full scale company tour and company presentations at the Univera LifeSciences headquarters.

I will be taking pictures and plan to blog about the experience over the weekend (maybe Sunday).

I am also going to be at the Univera LifeSciences headquarters on Saturday with a doctor from Santa Barbara, California and his son, another doctor from Bellevue, Washington. The good doctors will be touring the labs and headquarters and then we will be in the audience as Stephen Cherniske gets recorded for an upcoming DVD.

I also plan on asking the doctors to comment on the potential of anti-aging products as related to the baby boomer generation. I won't have much time to post in the coming days, but stay tuned for a barrage once things settle down a little bit.

Also, if you would like to hear more about Univera LifeSciences, tune in tonight (Tuesday, Dec. 6th) for an informational conference call:

Conference Call number: 641-478-5008 Pin: 491560#

Filling in for Dane

220pxdavestand While Dane Carlson takes some time off to celebrate a new addition to his family, I am helping to fill in at his wildly popular, Business Opportunities Weblog. I am laughing while writing this because here I am (on my little blog) promoting a blog that got like 600,000 unique visitors last month. Anyways check it out and while you are at it, click some ads,  so Dane can continue to pay my enormous salary. = )

Here is a recent post:

You’ve seen the web sites and you’ve probably heard the streaming audio sales pitch…

No Selling!
Not MLM!
$3,000 a week from home!

The next time you see one of these sites, you can pretty much bank on the fact that they are MLM and the average guy makes $3 a week. We will discuss those things in another post because today I want to discuss the selling (or lack there of) aspect of MLM.

I know a bunch of Network Marketers that love to compare their business to McDonald’s. These are the “buy from yourself and teach others to do the same” team. It’s funny because McDonald’s doesn’t operate in this manner. McDonald’s doesn’t keep their doors shut to customers, encouraging the crew to eat hamburgers and teach other crew members to do the same. McDonald’s opens their doors to customers!

More.

I also have the pleasure of being the author of Dane's MLM Business Opportunities Blog (fondly called MLM BOB).

Why Quixtar IBO's leave for Univera LifeSciences

Corporate Leadership: Univera LifeSciences has a management team that has represented Fortune 500 companies and has been responsible for tens of billions of dollars in sales. Quixtar has a management team consisting of the founder's kids.

Compensation Plan: Univera LifeSciences has a hybrid compensation plan that pays 3-15% on 4 levels and an additional 5-14% down 6 generations. Quixtar has a stair-step breakaway plan that has been basically the same since 1959. As soon as someone starts producing significant volume, they are cut off from you and you are paid only 4% of 1 generation.

Business Volume: One Business Volume is Univera LifeSciences is about $1.30, meaning 100 Points cost about $130. One Business Volume in Quixtar is equal to about $2.50, meaning 100 points cost about $250.

Business Tools: CD's in Oasis cost about 75 cents each and are sold by the company. Other tools are regulated by the company. CD's in Quixtar range from $6-8/ea. (or subscribed to for $40/month) and are a profit center for the Quixtar Diamonds. Other tools are produced by the Diamond kingpins and are likely the main source of Diamond income.

More soon.

A BWW - Quixtar IBO Comments

I really love it when Quixtar - BWW IBO's comment on my blog. Enjoy this gem:

PIGS don't know PIGS stink.

The Benefits of Working at Home

SnowSnow is pretty rare in Seattle, but when it happens, all hell breaks loose on the streets. Seattle drivers can't even drive in the rain, let alone the snow.

I am happily working from home today where I took this picture with my Motorola Cell Phone.

What Would You Do?

What would you do if you found out about a Biotech company that has a pipeline of products commited to run through a Network Marketing company?

Would you gather more information?
