Michigan Gov. Candidate Dick Devos, "Steering the Amway Ship" When Alleged Antitrust and Racketeering Took Place
New details were filed today in the lawsuit that involves the Amway - Alticor - Quixtar company, where Michigan Governor Candidate, Dick Devos was president from 1993 to 2000.
Here are the counts in the lawsuit:
Count I: Antitrust Violation - Group Boycott:
Count II: Antitrust Violation - Allocation of Customers
Count III: Antitrust Violation - Price Fixing
Count IV: Antitrust Violation - Conspiracy to Monopolize
Count V: Tortious Interference
Count VI: Injurious Falsehood
Count VII: Civil Conspiracy
Count VII: Violation of Title 18, U.S.C. 1962 (having to do with racketeering)
The timing of the lawsuit update is interesting given the recent Amway TV Commercials being run in Michigan.
It will be interesting to see how Michigan reacts to this news. Conspiracy, Antitrust, Price fixing and Racketeering are not usually Governor-like qualities.

"Conspiracy, Antitrust, Price fixing and Racketeering are not usually Governor-like qualities."
You have obviously never lived in Illinois. We're on a roll here, 2 in a row, and the latest guy is still up for re-election.

This could be a costing and time consuming falderal; litigation is everyone's nightmare and "truth" may only play a small role in the court proceedings.
In skirmishes like these, typically it's only the attorneys who come out on the top when all is said and done.

This is very say to hear. It's a shame that Devos would get caught up in something like this.
