Illegal Nutrilite Claims At AmwayProductInfo.com?

I just found something other than MonaVie and Orrin Woodward to occupy Amway attorneys for a while...

AmwayProductInfo.com

The Amway Product Info site does a little dance with illegal disease claims and Nutrilite products...a dance that Amway (or any Network Marketing company) does not want to participate in.

These types of claims are not good for the industry and often lead to companies becoming over-zealous when it comes to controlling information on the Internet.  This is one of the reasons why you don't see any MonaVie web sites except those run by their highest level associates.

I set the over/under for the Amway Product Info site to come down at 3 days.

Update: A reader mentioned that the person who authors the AmwayProductInfo.com site may not reside in the U.S. so the claims being made may not be illegal and I should mention that there is a fine line that the site is walking. Having said that, Nutrilite and Amway are based in the U.S. and I suspect that the line the site is walking is not one that Amway wants to walk.

Xango Launches 1 Oz. Xango Single

Xango_single_2 XanGo, LLC Chief Marketing Officer John Digles announced the creation of a new one-ounce, single-serving package of XanGo® Juice, which will be marketed under the brand name XanGo® Single. The XanGo Single is now available in the United States and is being introduced in Canada and Mexico, two of XanGo’s largest international markets, later this month.

“The XanGo Single meets a growing distributor demand for convenient, travel-size versions of the globally popular XanGo Juice,” Digles said. “As distributors work to build their businesses, we’re pleased to offer a sample size of their most effective sales tool: the enticing flavor of XanGo Juice.”

The XanGo Single uses XanGo Juice’s proprietary puree formula of the whole mangosteen fruit, from its dark, reddish purple nutrient-dense rind to the white fleshy pulp – through which all of the mangosteen health benefits are delivered as nature intended. Each serving has only 13 calories and contains 3.2 grams of total carbohydrates as well as 2.7 grams of sugars. The XanGo Single is sold by the case with three boxes, each containing 30 one-ounce packs.

“It’s XanGo Juice in a size ideal for travel and for networking,” Digles said. “The XanGo Single meets the Federal Aviation Administration’s regulations that liquids, gels and aerosols must be in three-ounce or smaller containers for airplane travel.”

Herbalife President Admits Lieing In Biography

Los Angeles Business Journal Online - business news and information for Los Angeles California

Herbalife Ltd. said late Thursday that its president and chief operating officer, Gregory Probert, has confirmed he didn't complete his MBA degree as stated in his biography.

The admission was prompted by an inquiry from The Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles-based supplement manufacturer and marketer said.

The company said administrators at California State University, Los Angeles confirmed that Probert was enrolled in its business graduate program in the 1980s but didn't complete his degree.

Who's Hotter? Xocai vs. Waiora

Time once again for Who's Hotter in in Network Marketing.  This edition pits Xocai vs Waiora.

The first graph shows current search trends traffic from Google.  In other words, how many people are searching for the terms Xocai (in blue) and Waiora (in red).

Xocaivswaiora
As you can see, Waiora is not even on the chart, leading us to believe that more people are searching for Xocai than Waiora.  This is usually an indicator of who is sparking more interest in the industry.

Secondly, we look at Alexa rankings which show the approximate traffic on the main web site of the company.  In this case, mxicorp.com for Xocai and Waiora.com for Waiora.

Xocaivswaioraalexa

The companies appear close in the graph (you can click on either graph to see a larger image) because the graph shows day to day numbers and the companies are very close when you look at day to day traffic, but the actual ranking numbers (smaller numbers is better) are Waiora - 131,196 and 198,527 for Xocai (3 month average).

Waiora is the clear leader in site traffic over the last three months, but the companies are neck and neck on a daily basis at this time.

Based on the lack of Google searches for Waiora and the closeness of the site traffic, I estimate that Xocai is a hotter company than Waiora at the time of this posting.

What Makes Quixtar A "Great Opportunity"?

I just saw a comment from a reader that suggested that Quixtar is a "great opportunity".  I see this statement a lot, but I say that the facts show something entirely different.  The facts show a poor compensation plan that pays out 25% less on the wholesale volume than the top growing companies today. I see thousands of me-too products that differentiate themselves only by being priced higher than everyone else and I see arguably the worst reputation in the industry.

Compare Quixtar to a job and Quixtar can look pretty good.  Compare Quixtar to the fast growing and well managed Network Marketing companies of 2008 and Quixtar looks pretty bad.

So, you know my perspective, now lets see your perspective...

What Makes Quixtar A Great Opportunity?

MLM MythBusters: Direct Sales (MLM) Is Based On Buying From Yourself With Few Customers

Mythbusters2 According the DSA's new web site, Directselling411.com:

...half (50%) of U.S. adults purchase products or services using the direct-selling retail channel during any given year. That’s roughly equivalent to 150 million people in the US alone who make at least one purchase from a direct selling company in a 12-month period. When you consider there are 15.2 million direct sellers in the US, that leaves a lot of customers who aren’t also direct sellers. What say you?

MLM MythBusters: 99% Of Network Marketers Lose Money

According to the DSA:

Mythbusters More than half of direct sellers report that their net income from direct selling, after taxes and expenses, is positive. In addition, a positive net income is reported by nearly half of new direct sellers — those representing their current company for less than a year — and by nearly half of direct sellers who say that they are not very likely or not at all likely to continue in direct selling in the future. In addition, research shows the following:

  • four in five (82%) direct sellers have been with their current direct selling company for one year or more, and 34% for five years or more.
  • 88% of direct sellers rate their personal experience in direct selling as excellent, very good, or good.
  • 85% of direct sellers say that direct selling meets or exceeds their expectations as a good way to supplement their income or as a way to make a little extra money for themselves.
  • 91% of direct sellers say that direct selling meets or exceeds their expectations as a business where the harder they work the more money they can make.

Orrin Woodward Lowers Tools Prices By 33% To His MonaVie Team

Lowerprices According to a recent post at Orrin Woodward's blog, the TEAM is lowering tool prices by 1/3 on tools related to building MonaVie.

The most telling (to me) is the following...

MonaVie rewards so lucratively in their pay plan that the MonaVie Executive Policy Council thought it was time to start the virtuous cycle we have been talking about.  Lower prices leads to a better education of the new person on business building techniques and principles.

You see, I believe that the profit motive in the tools system is a direct result of one of the worst compensation plans in Network Marketing.  Quixtar/Amway diamonds work very hard to get to their level of success and it's human nature to want to be rewarded equitably for your labor. I wouldn't be surprised if Orrin made double his Quixtar income with less people doing less volume in his new business.  That is not so much a testament to MonaVie (although they are certainly growing!) as it is a condemnation of Quixtar's plan.  Orrin could have picked a number of great companies and accomplished the same goal.

If Quixtar truly rewarded their associates in an equitable fashion, there would be no need for the diamonds to replace supplement their income with an unequitable amount of tool money.

Quixtar Success?

Just read this on former Quixtar Executive Diamond and founder of the TEAM, Orrin Woodward's blog:

My letter to Doug Devos clearly explains that over 600,000 people who speak English as a first language signed up into Quixtar in 1999 and 2000.  Out of these 600,000 IBO’s (misnomer?) only six achieved Founders Emerald or above by the end of 2004.  This is 4 to 5 years and only 1 out of 100,000 achieved $87,000 annual income from the plan with both the husband and wife working exhaustively.  Out of those six who achieved Founders Emerald by 2005, five were on the Team – Tim Marks (Founders Diamond), Doug Stroh, Mike Foos, Matt Abraham, Kirk Birtles were all founders emerald or above by the end of 2004. (I believe this is the five.)

If this is not true, Amway's legal team would be all over Woodward, leading me to believe that the statistics are true.

Your thoughts?
