Quixtar Success?

Just read this on former Quixtar Executive Diamond and founder of the TEAM, Orrin Woodward's blog:

My letter to Doug Devos clearly explains that over 600,000 people who speak English as a first language signed up into Quixtar in 1999 and 2000.  Out of these 600,000 IBO’s (misnomer?) only six achieved Founders Emerald or above by the end of 2004.  This is 4 to 5 years and only 1 out of 100,000 achieved $87,000 annual income from the plan with both the husband and wife working exhaustively.  Out of those six who achieved Founders Emerald by 2005, five were on the Team – Tim Marks (Founders Diamond), Doug Stroh, Mike Foos, Matt Abraham, Kirk Birtles were all founders emerald or above by the end of 2004. (I believe this is the five.)

If this is not true, Amway's legal team would be all over Woodward, leading me to believe that the statistics are true.

Your thoughts?

Is Larry Winters Leaving Quixtar?

File this in the MLM Rumor Mill until further notice, but I have heard and noticed some interesting search engine trends that suggest that Larry Winters might be preparing to pack up and leave Quixtar.

Some are speculating that Larry was watching the Orrin Woodward/Team lawsuits to see what happens before he takes his team to another company.  The main reasoning behind the possible move is apparently Quixtar's change back to the Amway name.

Again, this is only a rumor at this point, but we have been pretty accurate in terms of Larry Winters in the past when we broke the story about Larry Winters leaving Britt World Wide for his own system, LTD.

Update:

To be more specific, I have noticed that people are finding my web site by searching "Larry Winters Leaving Quixtar".  That doesn't mean that Larry Winters is leaving Quixtar, it just means that people are curious about that subject.  In no way, shape or form am I reporting that Larry Winters is leaving Quixtar.  For all I know people could have Larry Winters confused with Orrin Woodward.

Update 2:

A couple of people seem to be threatening legal action over this post.  This is a very simple process.  If the rumor is untrue, Larry Winters, or someone that works for Larry Winters can send me an email: mlmblog@mlmblog.net, telling me that the rumor is false.  I will immediately update the post to reflect the statement.

Update 3 (final update?):

After getting a couple of additional searches related to "larry winters new mlm", I did some additional investigation and found that Quixtar's IBOAI Board Blog has posted a response to this rumor (would have been neat if they had told me...oh well).

Here is the response:

Online rumors that Double Diamond Larry Winters is discontinuing his Quixtar business are completely false.  It's the kind of outlandish thing bloggers write when they have nothing substantive to say.

My response is that I can show proof that people are searching Google for "larry winters new mlm" and I am guessing that some of my readers think that is substantive. Again, I am not saying that Larry Winters is leaving Quixtar (or is it Amway?), just that I noticed search traffic and in that past, search traffic has been fairly accurate.

Bill Britt Responds to Quixtar - Amway Name Change

Crown_britt I am going to give you a link to an audio "Kate" message from Bill Britt regarding the name change in a second but I have some comments first.

Britt seems to be happy and positive about the name change, but I wonder, what choice does he have?  I don't see Bill Britt having many options outside of Amway/Quixtar at this point.  There are few companies that would put up with his (let's call it stuff).

The second thing that is interesting to me is that Britt suggested that Amway/Quixtar was about to double the bonuses paid to those below the diamond level.  I have been telling people for a long time that Quixtar has one of the worst compensation plans in the industry.  Of course, IBO's argue with me (and ignore the facts) until they are blue in the face.  Now Quixway is doubling the bonus money.  If they were paying out anything near the amount of money they should have been paying, there would be no way possible to double those bonuses. If they truly are doubling the bonus money, good for them and good for Quixway IBOs.

Stay tuned. We will of course report on all of the changes.

Here is the link to the Bill Britt Audio from The Truth About Amway site.

Quixtar Diamond Leaders Had No Idea Company Was Changing Name Back to Amway

According to the IBOAI web site, the high level IBO leaders (known as Diamonds) had no idea that the company was changing it's name back to Amway (from the IBOAI web site):

You should know this news came as a shock to us, too, in the form of a surprise announcement at a Founders Council meeting a few days ago. We were not consulted ahead of time and were not part of the decision. We are sorting through the details and trying to figure out how this affects all of our businesses.

It looks (to me) like more of these IBOAI leaders should spend a couple of minutes a day reading the MLM Blog.  I predicted that Amway was coming back over 6 months ago.

News and Links about Quixtar's Change to Amway

Less Alticor, No Quixtar = New Amway:

GRAND RAPIDS — While Amway remains a household name after more than 40 years, Quixtar still doesn't resonate with the public nearly seven years after its creation.

So direct-sales giant Alticor Inc. will phase out its Quixtar Inc. label during the next 1 1/2 to two years and rebuild its Amway Corp. brand in the United States and Canada.

There also will be less corporate use of the name Alticor, which represents a holding company.

Amway rebranding aimed to restore confidence:

Less sizzle. More sales.

That's the philosophy behind the return of Amway as the across-the-globe brand at the company known for seven years as Alticor Inc.

The privately held Ada Township-based direct sales giant will dump the 7-year-old Quixtar and Alticor names over the next 18 to 24 months.

Quixtar IBO Feedback on the Change Back to Amway

Here is some Quixtar IBO Feedback on the announced phase out of Quixtar and change back to Amway in North America (some names may be real, some are online nicknames):

The Big Apple:

This is the single best move you could have done!  I am so excited.

JaHn3tiC:

This is great news. I’ve always loved the Amway name because this business absolutely represents the “American Way.” Amway is a name to be proud of, not to hide. It represents courage, entrepreneurship, and creating wealth for all through a serious, legitimate business model.

Chillin77:

At first reaction, I must say that I am concerned and if you can bring more clarity to the reason behind this 'image infusion' it would be helpful.

Jeffery:

I am disappointed that we are bringing back the Amway name. It carries way more baggage than most people realize.

Jim Rinaldi:

I don't know what to think yet.  I was in the "old" Amway for a while, and vowed never to do that again, because of all the negative connotations.  Now so much of the same negative is associated with Quixtar, and I find myself in an LOA which heavily promotes "system" in its Open meetings, and never mentions the Quixtar name, much less Amway.

Jim Teller:

...IF QUIXTAR GOES BACK TO THE AMWAY NAME , I WILL LEAVE ASAP.

Bo (not the Bo you might be thinking of):

Please think twice before you do this. its going to be a disaster...90% of people got into the business because its not Amway. And they will quit because its Amway now.

I have put some feelers out to some high level IBOs, (an EDC and a Ruby) to see if I can get some of their opinions. So far, I haven't heard back. If you are a Ruby or above and would like to share your thoughts, you can email them to mlmblog (at) mlmblog.net (replace the (at) with @ and no spaces). You have my word that I will post your comments anonymously and I will never reveal you as a source unless you want me to do so.

Quixtar Letter to Diamonds - Here Comes Amway

The following is a letter sent to Quixtar North America Diamonds and above. I got a copy from the Inside Quixtar Blog. Enjoy...

Quixtar committed to helping IBOs grow through transformation of North American business

We are ready to transform the Quixtar business, and we need your help.

Starting today, we are putting more ideas, more innovation, and more money into our North American business than ever before.

We are doing it to make your businesses bigger than ever before, and to make the business more attractive to prospects and consumers than ever before.

This transformation will make the business more dynamic, competitive, and financially rewarding than it has ever been.

Starting September 1 – and going forward from now on – you will see from us:

1.    The infusion of more than $60 million in new bonuses and incentives ensures that we will continue to offer the best compensation in the industry.

2.     A rush of better and more competitive products to generate consumer demand.

3.     The introduction of revolutionary new products that tap into consumer trends.

4.     The increased ability to coordinate with international markets.

5.     Unprecedented investments in marketing, promotion, and media advertising.

6.     An additional investment in excess of $200 million in support of the North American business.

We are going to work together to do more to support our business owners than ever before. Everything you and your teams have learned from Quixtar since 1999 will now be joined with the immense success and name awareness of Amway around the world. The combination will be incredibly powerful for those people who are looking to build a business of their own.

Amway is already a $5 billion company in other markets. When the transformation process is complete, we will launch the new Amway in North America and (as many of you have heard) transition to the Amway name.

The convergence of Amway with Quixtar’s $1 billion business will give us real momentum. And during the interim, we will continue to enhance and support the current business model.

At the same time, the new Amway will be gathering force over the horizon. When we launch that name into the North American market, we will have created the best business opportunity any of us have ever seen.

We will stay in direct and regular contact with you through every step of the transformation. We will give you the information you need to persuade and excite your teams. And we will seek your advice and input every step of the way.

We are looking forward to transforming this business – together.

Please stay tuned to the Opportunity Zone blogs (www.opportunityzone.com) for further details and updates, and please contact us with questions or concerns.

Larry Winters Videos Hit YouTube

I thought this was pretty funny.

Here is a link to the actual Larry Winters tax documents.

Team5K No Longer an Accredited Quixtar Training Program

"Sources" are suggesting that Team5K is no longer an accredited IBO Organization, leaving only Markerman and eFinity as accredited IBO Organizations.

Missing from the accredited list are some of the largest groups within Quixtar:

WWDB - Puryear/Duncan and Co.
BWW - Britt's Team
LTD - Winters Team
TEAM - Orrin Woodward and Co.

If you are thinking about signing up with Quixtar, it might be a good idea to find out if the group you plan on joining is accredited, especially given the recent sanctions Amway, (Quixtar's sister company), imposed on IBO's in the UK.

Amway UK is a warning to Quixtar IBO Leaders

As promised, here are some comments about the Amway UK IBO sanctions:

I am assuming at this point that you have read about the Amway UK IBO sanctions. If you haven't read about them, click the link above and then come back and post your opinions.

Amway UK is a small market for Alticor, (Amway/Quixtar's parent company) so the monetary affect of these sanctions is not huge on the overall volume of the company.

My personal opinion is that this is a shot over the bow of Quixtar in the U.S. This is about Alticor showing the IBO Leaders (Britt, Winters, Puryear, Woodward, Yager, etc) that the company is serious about cleaning up the training and tools mess.

If the old school tools boys don't clean up their act, it is now apparent that the company will step in and clean house.

But...(you knew that was coming, didn't you?)

But, Quixtar is not nearly as lucrative as an opportunity if you remove the tools income that begins in many cases at the Platinum level. I would even go as far as saying that the tools income is what keeps Amway/Quixtar leaders from leaving for a different company with a better compensation plan.

Quixtar pays out roughly 30% back to it's IBO base, yet the average of the top 30 companies in the industry is roughly 37% payout. Why would IBO Leaders stick around Amway/Quixtar for years when there is more money to be made elsewhere?  It's all about the secondary business of books, CDs, seminars, voice mail, and web sites, collectively know as the tools business. Take away the tools business and Quixtar Leaders are paid 20%  (a conservative number) less than leaders in other companies for the same volume.

The IBO leaders are in a bit of a bind. They clean up their act or the leaders keep on trucking and Quixtar comes in and cleans up. Either way the leaders stand to lose a lot of money.

Will all of this be better for the individual Amway/Quixtar IBO? Probably. Would the individual Quixtar IBO be better off by finding a new opportunity at this point? Probably. I would be willing to bet that BIG TIME IBO leaders are already looking around at other opportunities.

I said this about USANA and it applies to Quixtar at this point as well. The company will survive all of this, but it will get worse for the typical IBO before it gets better.

Update: I re-read the letter and noticed that this UK action is in response to "serious concerns raised" by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). That has me wondering whether Amway would have done anything if not for a pending crackdown by the DTI.

Your comments and theories are welcome...

MLM Blog Rumor Mill - Quixtar: Winters and Britt

Based on search traffic to the MLM Blog and a couple of conversations I had today with LTD and BWW associates, something is brewing.

Could it be a Bill Britt - BWW vs. Larry Winters - LTD lawsuit?

$60K in Debt as a Q12 Quixtar Platinum

This is from a post on the Quixtar Blog Forum. The last paragraph is interesting given the recent talk at the Quixtar Opportunity Zone about doing things right. I know that the Quixtar corporate bloggers have read my site in the past so lets hope they address this.

Hello all! We are new to this forum but ran across your question about John Crowe. For your information, he has left BWW along with his daughter and son-in law Dave & Kristin Dussault. Also, Jack and Magee Spencer have "jumped the shark" as well. The "Callendar" team, most of which are unqualified diamonds, remained with Bill Britt. Some other defectors include Kanti and Hemi Gala who have started the "Winners" system which is most of the India business. Some additional IBOs have joined LTD as well to include but not limited to Tom and Connie Cooper, Louise Cole, and Terry and Laura Taylor. Rex has also defected from BWW but some of his downline like Dave Taylor (and his 20-something honey Confused ), Angelo Nardone, Ray Melillo, etc. have remained with Bill.

Here is some other information for you to chew on. The situation with Paul Miller is as follows: he was sleeping with his secretary for 14 yrs, has 2 children with her, and apparently bought off the ex-husband, Rob, to keep him silent. It is true that Debbie was having an on-going affair with an Emerald's son (who will remain nameless) who is now affiliated with LTD. Basically, Kanti Gala has stated that Bill is not welcome to speak at his functions unless Peggy is present with him. We personally have met and associated with many of these individuals.

How do we know this information?... Well my husband and I built the Quixtar business for almost 7 yrs, being CORE for all those years. We were affiliated with BWW and then switched our affiliation to LTD over 1 yr ago. We qualified Double Eagle, Founders Platinum, and Q12 up until the time we decided to no longer build this business. We were profitable but due to the system expenses and revolving door business, we racked up over 60K in debt. We always struggled with our conscience about the way the AQMO's taught us to build the business and upon discovering about the "system" scam, we decided on principle we could no longer continue unwittingly defrauding and hurting other people. Although we were shocked with how the Quixtar corporation handled our formal letter of complaint (and those of 8 of our downline) i.e. did nothing in spite of over 450 files of threats and violations of Quixtar business conduct and rules which we submitted, we realized that the corporation and the AQMO's are one in the same. Terminating our relationship with the Quixtar business was one of the best decisions we ever made for our family.

John Crowe Breaks from Bill Britt's BWW

I reported back on March 5th that John Crowe may be leaving Bill Britt's Britt World Wide (BWW) and now it looks like the rumors are true.

According to a comment at Get The Facts - The Truth About Quixtar, the following names (all downline from John Crowe) have now been removed from the BWW web site:

- Jack and Magee Spencer,EDC
  - Chris and Judy Cherest,Diamond
     - Wayne and Suzanne Callender,EDC
        - Orett and Christine Channer,Diamond
           - Orlando and Deborah McKenzie,Diamond
              - Judith Scott,Diamond
           - Danny and Petrona Thompson,Diamond
        - Rod Loney,Diamond
          - Rob and Nerland Robinson,Diamond
  - Ron and Robin Erwin,Diamond
  - Bobby and Priscilla Harris,Diamond
- GW and Edna King,Diamond
- Dave and Kristin Dussualt,Diamond

No word yet on whether Crowe is joining Larry Winters' LTD, Rex Renrow's recent breakaway or if Crowe will venture out on his own.

John & Jenny Belle Crowe...at whose feet leaders take notes

The burning question is whether or not Bill Britt's BWW will survive without the leadershop and numbers from Renfrow, Crowe and Winters.

Quixtar Dateline NBC on YouTube (2 Parts)

Thousands of true believers gathered in celebration at arenas across the country, all convinced they've found the true path to success, to wealth beyond their wildest dreams. The promises are golden, fueling dream they do -- of luxury homes, fancy cars, yachts and private planes. So who are all these people and what are they so worked up about?

The people are distributors for a company called Quixtar, which says it's had $3 billion in sales since 1999. They say the company's special formula for success has made them rich. But their main purpose here is to tell all these thousands of other distributors that they can do it, too.

Quixtar: A Billion in Sales

Quixtar Reports Fourth Consecutive Year of Billion-Dollar Sales

...said the recent press release.

Here is my question.

Is that good?

Quick answer is yes. A billion in sales is great.

Next question.

Is that good for newest Quixtar IBOs?

Quick answer is no. Zero growth is zero growth whether the volume is $1,000 or $1,000,000,000.

I talk to people about Network Marketing every day and many people ask me why I am so hard on Quixtar. I think the answer lies in the fact that the IBO leaders make it sound like Quixtar is a growing business...a great business for the newest person that wants to take charge of his/her destiny. The reality is the growth is stagnant and the sales numbers prove it.

If you are a high level Quixtar leader and your sales go from $20 Million to $19.9 Million, you are still doing OK, but if you are Joe IBO who just got started and your sales go from 200 PV to 199 PV in a year, you have a problem.

There are dozens of growing and stable Network Marketing companies in this industry, Quixtar just doesn't happen to be one of them and based on the lawsuits hanging over it's head, I don't see it turning around in the near future.

Larry Winters Leadership Team Development is Not Accredited With Quixtar

This is a quick note for a reader...

Larry Winters' Leadership Development Team is not an accredited system with Quixtar.

But don't take my word for it, here is a link to the Quixtar Accreditation site.

What's Up With Larry Winters?

I am getting a surge in Larry Winters - Leadership Development Team traffic here at the MLM Blog.

Usually when this happens, there is news about the subject.

Anyone know what is happening with Larry Winters?

Amway - Quixtar Antitrust Lawsuit Update

Kansas City Star via MLM Business Opportunities:

Plaintiffs in a massive antitrust action against Amway Corp. overcame another hurdle this week in their long quest to get their case heard by a jury.

A federal judge on Monday refused to dismiss all but one of eight counts against the company, finding that the plaintiffs’ allegations were legally sufficient to support claims of price fixing, conspiracy and other charges.

U.S. District Judge Richard E. Dorr agreed to dismiss only a civil racketeering claim, ruling that it failed to establish “a pattern of racketeering activity.”

“We are obviously pleased with the ruling,” said Kansas City lawyer Dan Boulware, who represents several Amway distributors, including Nitro Distributing Inc. of Springfield and two distributors in St. Joseph. “All of our claims survived with the exception of the racketeering claim, which was a new claim we had recently added, and the judge kept the door open for that.”

WWDB is NOT an accredited Quixtar Line of Sponsorship

Have you heard of Quixtar's Professional Development Accreditation Program?

Britt World Wide and World Wide Dreambuilders are not accredited.

Neither is Larry Winter's LTD or Jody Victor's Markerman.

What about Network 21, TEAM, ILD, INA, Interbiz, Biznet, and Internet Services?

No. Nyet. Nope. Uh-uh. Naw. No way. Not.

Quixtar's PDAP. Coming to a Quixtar website soon.  If I were you, I would call Quixtar and ask them if your team is accredited. Then I would call your upline and ask them why they are not accredited by Quixtar.

Don't you want to be working with a team that is accredited?

Update: Markerman has been accredited.

MCI Fires Quixtar?

Yes, for all those Quixtar distributors bragging about all the great reputable companies that have signed up to be Quixtar partner stores, here is one for you..........

Dear Independent Business Owner,

The combination of technological and regulatory changes in the telecommunications industry, along with the recent acquisition of MCI by Verizon, has initiated policy changes in the newly merged company. Verizon has decided to terminate partnerships between MCI and other companies. Effective July 1, 2006, this will impact the Quixtar Partner Stores & Services partnership with MCI.

As a subscriber or an IBO with customers who subscribe to MCI, it is important to note the following as a result of this change:

* The termination of MCI as a Quixtar Partner Store & Service will not interrupt current subscribers’ phone service.

* IBOs will continue to earn PV/BV credit for existing MCI service through Quixtar Partner Stores & Services until July 1, 2007.

* The final day to sign up for MCI service through Quixtar and earn a 125 PV/BV sign-up bonus is June 30, 2006.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage you and your customers to explore alternative wirelss and broadband services available through Quixtar Partner Stores & Services.

Sincerely,

The Partner Stores & Services Team

Larry Winters Can Count to 6

So, according to this audio clip from the Quixtar Blog, Larry Winters claims that "if you are stupid and can't count to six, if you can't do 100PV, and if you are not sharp enough to ask someone if they are interested in making money, than you aint bright enough to be up on the (Quixtar) stage".

Apparently if you owe the IRS $3.2 Million (like Larry Winters), everything is hunky dory and the stage is your oyster.

U.S. Dept. of Justice Looking at Larry Winters

Crap meet Fan.

I was going over some of my site traffic and noticed an interesting location of a site visitor...the Department of Justice.

Someone at the Department of Justice in Washington D.C. is reading the MLM Blog post about Larry Winters and his IRS debt of $3.2 Million.

Larry Winters - $3.2 Million in Tax Liens

Larry Winters loves to talk about freedom. Apparently, "freedom" means owing the IRS $3.2 Million in taxes dating from 1997 to 2003.

Amquix.info:

Well its a good thing Larry Winters has qualified to have his own system now, as it seems he will need the extra money to help keep his taxes up to date.  It appears the IRS nailed him with $3.2 million in assessments for taxes all the way back to 1997.

See the documents below:

1996 NC State tax lien:  $121980*

1997 Federal Tax lien:  $536,518* Filed in May 2005
1998 Federal Tax lien:  $569,069*
1999 Federal Tax lien:  $724,020*

2000 Federal Tax lien: $341,616*  Filed in May 2005

2001 Federal Tax lien: $556,440*  Filed June 2004
2003 Federal Tax line:  $546,307*

Larry Winters recently launched his own Quixtar support system called Leadership Development Team. Winter's allegedly "broke away" from Bill Britt's BWW team in response to Britt's recent scandals.

Larry Winters was featured in the Dateline NBC expose' on Quixtar and later called the show a "satanic attack".

Larry Winters Kicked Out Of BWW?

I don't think so, but based on the searches I have seen lately, that is what some BWW leaders are telling their downline.

Quixtar IBO's spend more on tapes than they earn in bonus money

Amquix.info:

Well if the numbers from my last page were not enough, a friend of mine from AllianceNet Solutions sent me some data.   To cut to the chase, those Quixtar IBO's in AllianceNet Solutions were spending about  $305,000/year just on standing order book and tape subscriptions, and seminars to earn about $274,560 from Quixtar.  The expenses do not include transportation, voice mail, tapes bought at seminars, open meeting costs, meals, baby sitting or anything else; just standing orders and seminars.  Not including any retail markup, their 858,000 BV would have generated about $274,560/year in Quixtar bonuses.

Larry Winters Quixtar Brainwashing

Quixtar/Amway Science Experiment

ScienceThis is a quick and easy science experiment you can do at home to see if Quixtar is any different than Amway.

Supplies:

1. Glass of water

2. An unused Starbucks coffee cup

Experiment:

1. Take a drink of the water from the glass.

2. Pour the water from the glass into the Starbucks coffee cup.

3. Take a drink from the Starbucks coffee cup.

Did the water change into something other than water when it was poured into the Starbucks coffee cup?

It's still water, isn't it?

So, if you take the same products, same compensation plan, same people and same training and move the product ordering from the phone to the internet, what do you have?

Answer: The same business.

Selling the New Winters System

Emerald, Greg Franics promotes the new Leadership Team Development CDs:

Buy The Tools - Buy The Tools - Buy The Tools

My favorite quote is:

"looking forward to seeing huge tool orders"

Of course Greg Franics is looking forward to huge tool orders. Cha-ching. He makes money every time one is sold in his downline.

Leadership Development Team - Larry Winters - Britt No More

What I reported back in December is now official. Larry Winters has "earned the right" to have his own tools system.

Here is a portion of a Communikate voicemail message that went out today:

Leadership Team Development Announcement Audio

Britt World Wide tools are no longer available to Larry Winters Team, including this weeks Britt tool orders, that will not be shipped. In place of Britt tools are tools from Winters' Leadership Team Development or LTD.

"Larry and his guys are forward thinkers" but "this weeks tool orders will not be shipped".

Tools Won't Be Shipped Audio

The Leadership Team Development group currently has 5 CD's. One CD is coming out via standing order this week and the Leadership Team is encouraging everyone to order the other 4 CD's plus some extras this week.

I have some additional audio that relates the the promotion of the new CD's. You will want to tune in on Monday.

Update: The voice on the Communikate message is Emerald, Greg Franics.
