This is an older podcast that I found on my site that did not have an active link. I am trying to troubleshoot my iTunes listing for MLM Podcasts. We (MLM Podcasts) are listed as number one on iTunes when you search podcasts for "MLM", but for some reason the shows are not listed.
So you get to check out a great (older) podcast with Todd Falcone while I see if I can figure out what is wrong with the podcast feed in iTunes.

In the next few days I will be moving the MLM - Network Marketing Podcast back home to the MLM Blog. When I first launched the Podcast, Typepad did not support Podcasting, so I went with Blogharbor. Blogharbor has been a good host, but due to the growth of the Podcast (over 4,000 unique visitors/listeners in August), I feel that Typepad is a better solution.
I plan to have a slow but smooth transition and will continue to post the Podcasts at the old feed for some time. I will post the new feed information soon.
In other news, I have teamed up with Dane Carlson of Business Opportunities Weblog to produce the MLM Business Opportunities Blog, (get yourself a sneak peak...the official launch is next week). The new site is less about commentary and opinion and more about news and links.
You may also notice that I have put a chat interface in the left panel. This interface will allow readers to ask me questions in real time. I don't have a schedule yet, and I have only placed the program on one of my computers, so catching me may be hit and miss, but I think it might be a cool way to interact with the folks that read this blog. We'll see. I kind of consider it a beta thing.
That's my update and I'm stickin' to it.
Update 9/30: I just got an email from Blogharbor about this very post. I am going to listen to what they have to say before I complete this move. That simple email may have saved a customer. MLM lesson here?

Typepad, my blogging tool of choice, now supports Podcasting (and the crowd goes wild). Exciting as it sounds, this new support presents a problem for me (and others, I'm sure).
The MLM - Network Marketing Podcast is listed on iTunes and actually has people listening to it. Then I helped Bo Short launch a podcast called Leading with Impact. I literrally put the finishing touches on the site minutes before I found out that Typepad added Podcasting support. Leading with Impact is also listed on iTunes. You can have a listen here.
Now I have to figure out if it is worth the time and effort to move the Podcasts to Typepad (from Blogharbor) and then figure out how to resubmit them to iTunes.
I will say that the new Podcast support from Typepad will allow my kids (ages 5 and 8) and I to produce a weekly "unsigned/local music" show. Should be fun.

First, let's define Podcasting (from Wikipedia):
Podcasting is a way of publishing sound files to the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed and receive new audio files automatically. Podcasting is distinct from other types of audio content delivery because it uses the RSS 2.0 protocol. This technique has enabled many producers to create self-published, syndicated radio shows.
What this means is that after downloading a couple of programs and setting them up on your computer, you can have Passport conference calls and the MLM Blog Network Marketing Podcast delivered directly to your computer where you can then sync the content with an iPod, burn them on a CD or listen to them anytime.
To get started: 1. Download and install iTunes.
2. Download and install iPodder.
3. Go to Subscriptions in iPodder and add the following URL: http://mlmpodcasts.blogharbor.com/blog/index.xml
4. Press "Check for new Podcasts"
The MLM Blog Network Marketing Podcast audio standing order should appear in iTunes where you can listen to it anytime you like or sync it with an iPod.
You don't need a Mac, iPod, or MP3 player and you don't need to be a tech guru.
Before I tell you why I think Podcasting is so important to Network Marketing, I wanted to direct you to the latest Network Marketing Podcast of a conference call on leadership by Passport CEO, Bo Short.

It's one of those nights. Your daughter has a swimming meet at 7:00PM and your son has a soccer game at 7:15PM and then there is the Network Marketing conference call by the # 1 MLM trainer in 2004, Michael Oliver. You have looked forward to this call for months, but the call starts at 7:30, right in the middle of your kid's important events.
What do you do?
How about plugging your iPod into the USB port on your computer and having the conference call automatically feed into your MP3 player?
It's called Podcasting and according to Glenn Garnes at The Perfect Networker, "Podcasting can be used to distribute audio content to people wherever they may be, and have it be mobile so they can take it on the road with them, listen to it in the car, or anywhere else people go. You can distribute news, music, training, personal development content, or virtually anything else you can think of all on the fly.".
Podcasts can also be listened to right on your computer, but the neat thing about it is that you will be able to subscribe to the content you want, such as Passport Training or a weekly leadership radio show with Bo Short and it will automatically be delivered to you via RSS feed.
I can only think of two reasons why a company or a business building system within a company wouldn't be Podcasting their training.
Money and Money.
Money from CD sales and money from meetings.
If I had Jedi powers, I would make a soapbox rise out of the floor right now...
If you want to sell CD's and charge money for meetings, be my guest, but you should also provide the material for free to anyone that wants to learn.
Here is MLM Blog's first attempt at Podcasting. I have a handful of audio's that I will Podcast in the coming weeks and then I plan to produce a radio-esque program on Network Marketing. The first Podcast features Todd Falcone.
Todd Falcone blazes through several key concepts involved in Network Marketing. Though only available for a short time, Todd covers a lot of ground and details into his approach about building a business and client base. Todd Falcone is a veteran of the industry and has built several dynamic businesses. This audio is a little over 36 minutes long and you may need to listen to it a few times to capture the details.
