Guest Blogger: Anders Gustavsson On Accelerated Learning - Part 2

Network Marketing and all that is involved can be a challenge to understand and learn.

There are several stages of learning that one must go through to fully grasp any concept. This is especially true in MLM because the last stage involves teaching, and if any concept is not fully understood it will not be able to be taught to others correctly.

Here are the 5 stages of learning:

1) Unconscious Incompetent - You don't know, you don't know
2) Conscious Incompetent - You are aware that you don't know
3) Unconscious Competent - You are unaware that you know
4) Conscious Competent - You are aware that you know, and make conscious decisions to further your education in specific areas
5) Mastery - You have a firm grasp of the subject, and can teach others with efficiency

The simple learning method of listening and memorizing may work; however it is not the most effective. This method works for some people, but is not the best way to teach groups of people that individually have different learning preferences.

Accelerated learning processes use a mixture of techniques to teach a particular subject. When multiple teaching techniques are used it creates more interest and causes you to move your audience through the 5 stages of learning faster.  The more engaged they are in the learning process, the more likely they are to retain the information, and the easier it becomes for them to teach it.

“Each one, reach one. Each one, teach one. Until all are taught. " - Mark Victor Hansen

In part 3 we will wrap up with some ideas for you to utilize and test when training your people.

Ty Tribble and The Internet Marketing Moms

Wahmandchild In honor of Mother’s Day, I made a special one-time offer to the Moms that read my Success Newsletter (sign up for free and get and I will give you a free copy of Think and Grow Rich). I limited the special to three Moms, but a fourth Mom sneaked in at this last minute and I decided to honor her with the special as well.

So here is what we are doing…

First, I sent them all a care package that included the “It’s Called Success” program and Mike Dillard’s Building On A Budget. That alone is over $350 worth of incredible content related to building a profitable Network Marketing business on and off the Internet.

Next, I am giving each Mom 5 hours of personal coaching ($1,000 worth) to help them set up a template for success on the Internet.  We are actually going to build a lead capture page and set up a Google Adwords campaign to drive traffic and begin to create her own laser targeted leads.

Lastly as another bonus I haven’t even told them about yet, I am going to set them up with a blog, host it and and optimize it. (another $250 value).

I have asked the Moms to allow me to document some of the results we get so stay tuned.

I will never offer the special Mom price ever again, but I might consider another special offer once I wrap up with the Moms.

Guest Blogger: Anders Gustavsson On Accelerated Learning

Anders Gustavsson is the man behind MLM - The Game, an interactive Network Marketing game that is meant to be a training tool and learning experience.

The following is part 1 of a 3 part series by Ander's on the subject of:

Effective Network Marketing Training Uses Accelerated Learning

Books, seminars, and many trainers often rely on listening and memorization as their main method for their audience to retain information. People learn while they are there, and some may take hand written notes with them home. Unless this information is reviewed several times using the various methods to stimulate the different senses, it will often be forgotten unless it is immediately applied in the real world.

Network Marketing is largely about effectively teaching people to duplicate your efforts.  The teaching style of only listening and memorizing is out dated, boring, and is not the most efficient way to learn.

When you are training your downline your lessons will be much better remembered if you create accelerated learning environments that will interest a broad range of people. Accelerated learning practices don't just tell you the information; they engage trainees in the process. While involved this way, people will learn with multiple senses.

These are some of the main effects of Accelerated Learning;

1) Both sides of the brain are being used simultaneously making it much easier to remember and truly understand new materials.

2) There is interaction with others which not only elevates the energy and blood flow to the brain but also offers even better memory retention.  This also creates a positive mental attitude which further contributes to learning.

Have any ideas as to how you can use or create any creative accelerated learning techniques

If so, please comment below.

In part 2, I will share information about the learning process, and in part 3 we will wrap up with many ideas for you to utilize and test.

Who's Hotter? Xocai vs. Waiora

Time once again for Who's Hotter in in Network Marketing.  This edition pits Xocai vs Waiora.

The first graph shows current search trends traffic from Google.  In other words, how many people are searching for the terms Xocai (in blue) and Waiora (in red).

Xocaivswaiora
As you can see, Waiora is not even on the chart, leading us to believe that more people are searching for Xocai than Waiora.  This is usually an indicator of who is sparking more interest in the industry.

Secondly, we look at Alexa rankings which show the approximate traffic on the main web site of the company.  In this case, mxicorp.com for Xocai and Waiora.com for Waiora.

Xocaivswaioraalexa

The companies appear close in the graph (you can click on either graph to see a larger image) because the graph shows day to day numbers and the companies are very close when you look at day to day traffic, but the actual ranking numbers (smaller numbers is better) are Waiora - 131,196 and 198,527 for Xocai (3 month average).

Waiora is the clear leader in site traffic over the last three months, but the companies are neck and neck on a daily basis at this time.

Based on the lack of Google searches for Waiora and the closeness of the site traffic, I estimate that Xocai is a hotter company than Waiora at the time of this posting.

Hitting The Road - Face To Face Network Marketing

Face_to_face Why would a guy who has created over 7,000 leads online in the last nine months be flying to Chicago and Dallas this weekend to build his Network Marketing business?

It's a great question and the answer is simple.  I don't know anyone in the world who has built a significant residual income in Network Marketing without relationships and the best way to build relationships is to get face to face with people.

So, Friday night and Saturday afternoon I will be in Chicago and on Sunday, I will be in Dallas talking with people about Max International.

We plan on staying up late and making plans for the future. The MaxImpact Team is off to an incredible start, growing rapidly because of the hard work of those involved and we are only scratching the surface of the future.

MaxImpact Team members will witness (for the first time) the merging of Television, Internet and Network Marketing.  I know that other companies have tried TV, but they didn't have $1.5 Billion dollar Guthy-Renker (Proactiv Solutions) as owners.

Imagine your hard work paying off when a well known star shows up on TV holding your product and talking about your company...

If you are in the Chicago or Dallas area...contact me here.

Vemma vs. Max International: Who's Hotter?

In this installment of "Who's Hotter?", it's Vemma vs, Max International.

First we will look at Google Trends which is based on overall searches. (Vemma is in Blue, Max International is in Red):

Vemmavsmaxgoogletrends

Because of a sizable spike in the 1st quarter of 2008, it looks like Max International is getting more search traffic.

Next we look at Alexa rankings which covers traffic to the individual web site:

Vemmavsmaxalexa

Max International is leading in Alexa rankings as well as you can see in the chart, but also in the actual Alexa rank (remember lower is better):

Max International: 121,418
Vemma: 172,975

With wins in the Google and Alexa categories, it looks like Max International is currently hotter than Vemma.

Quixtar vs. MonaVie: Who's Hotter?

Google has a pretty cool tool that tracks the search trends across Google's network.  It is really useful if you want to see who is hot in Network Marketing.

Below is a chart showing the Google Search trends (Quixtar is in blue, Monavie in red):

Quixtarvsmonavie

So MonaVie wins the Google Trends portion of who's hotter.  Now let's look at the Alexa rankings which tracks the popularity of a particular web site.  For this we will look at Quixtar.com vs. Monavie.com

Quixtarvsmonaviealexa

Quixtar's Alexa ranking is 17,056 and Monavie is 69,578 (lower is better).  This is an estimate of site traffic.  So Quixtar is the clear winner in site traffic.

So, more people seem to be searching for MonaVie information, while Quixtar has more site traffic.  We know that Quixtar historically has more associates in the U.S. than any other MLM company (outside of Avon and Mary Kay), so we can conclude that much of the traffic on the Quixtar site is associates, not prospective associates...leading me to believe that MonaVie is hotter than Quixtar in today's marketplace.

For additional Google Trends Fun, here are the hottest places in the U.S. to build Quixtar and MonaVie:

Quixtar:

1. Minneapolis, MN, USA

2. Denver, CO, USA

3. Seattle, WA, USA

7. Atlanta, GA, USA

Driving Traffic To Your MLM Web Site

My friend and Gentlemen Network Marketer, Michael Lemm has written an amazing blog post about driving traffic to your MLM web site.

Check it out here.

If you are in need of an MLM Web Site, you might want to visit my other buddy, Carl Sorensen at EZ Lead Capture.  Carl is the Crown Prince of Network Marketing Lead Capture Pages.   I have used Carl's service for years.

If you are looking for other resources that will help your business on the Internet, check out my resources page at TyTribble.com. I post links to the resources that I use, including autoresponders, domain registration, blog hosting, conference call and testimonial line recording and other training goodies.

MLM Uncensored

About four months ago, I launched three new blog sites that were experimental in nature.  Typically, blog content is created by one writer and then the blog readers have the opportunity to comment on the blog posts presented by the writer.

In my five years of blogging, I have written a number of blog posts that have taken on a life of their own in the comment sections.  People would post points and counter-points and engage in wonderful (and many times civil) debates about the topics.

This spawned an idea to create a blog that offered content created solely by the readers and that's what I did (in fact, I created three such blogs) and I called them MLM Uncensored.

All three of the sites landed in the Google Top 10 when searching for the company name at one point or another over the last four months and one remains in the top 10 today.  The sites have all bounced around the top 40 depending on what is written how Google shuffles the cards.

What does this mean to you?

It's simple, really.  We will be launching additional MLM Uncensored sites at a clip of at least one a week and we want you to participate and benefit from your participation.  You are free to post your links and promote your business in any way you see fit.  Others are free to comment about the posts and about the company in general, including their opinions and their experience with the product and opportunity.  It's an uncensored free flowing discussion.  The only time we will moderate comments is if people get abusive. I have no time for abusive people in my life and I assume that you don't either.

Here are the links to the three original sites:

"Only Stupid Do MLM The Old Fashioned Way"

That is a direct quote from a web page that I recently stumbled across.  Outside of the statement being untrue, there is another major problem with the web page.

See if you can spot it. Click Here.

Update: The problem I found has been fixed. The site didn't have a place to capture a persons information.  It was a lead capture page without the capture at the time I first looked at it.

Update 2: I responded to a comment from the author of the web site in the comments and I thought it might be worth posting a couple of additional thoughts here.

Absolutes are stupid and in this case, wrong.  People have the right to say whatever they want, but when they state something as a fact and they are wrong, I have a right to point that out.  Even though I use the Internet to create leads (and I am really good at it), to suggest that face to face contacting and business building doesn't work is simply naive.

As a matter of fact, my buddy, Todd Falcone (a multi-million dollar earner himself), interviewed a bunch of six and seven figure Network Marketing income earners about this very subject...

Check it out.

What Makes A Good Network Marketing Company?

Mlmhesaidshesaid_2 Ever hear someone say, "My ORAC is higher than your ORAC!" or "My company is better than your company."?  There is little doubt that there are good companies and bad companies in this industry, the question should be what attributes make a good company?

We will touch on this subject over the next few weeks in this multi-part series.  Your comments are welcome and encouraged.

There are attributes of a Network Marketing company that are important and then there are attributes of a Network Marketing company that people love to toss around as a perceived benefit, but these make little to no difference in whether or not you are able to build a profitable business. Let's talk about a few of these attributes...

1. Size and Longevity Of The Company - This is a very important piece to the puzzle when choosing a Network Marketing company, but it really comes down to stability, not size and longevity. You want a company to have the resources to grow and the stability to pay out bonus checks on time, ship products on time and support your business through providing excellent customer service.  I normally suggest that people stay away from start-up companies, but if Bill Gates and Warren Buffet start a company, is it really a start up or is it a new company? It's important to look closely at the ownership.

Remember, just because a company is the biggest and oldest, doesn't mean it is the best place for you to carve out your own success. This is about your personal success in your marketplace, not about a companies 50 year track record and billions in sales in other countries.

I will take a stable, innovative and growing company over a billion dollar, 50 year old company that is in chaos in my marketplace.

2. Number Of Products: More Is Better? -The myth is that more products choices leads to more volume. But the facts tell a different story.  The fastest growing companies in the last 5 years in Network Marketing have been one product companies or companies with a very narrow product focus (like weight loss). Here is the reality of Network Marketing...people do enough volume to quality for the bonus schedule, regardless of the number of products and then if the product is innovative, reasonably priced (it doesn't have to be the cheapest) and solution driven, distributors will naturally sell the product to customers, creating more volume.

Hundreds, thousands (or even millions) of products do not significantly increase the volume or more importantly, profit per distributor.  It's really all about the impact of the product.  Network Marketing companies have always been innovative when it comes to products, but if the product is easily copied (then sold for a lot less in stores), a drop in sales will naturally occur.

I would rather have one impact product that is reasonably priced than a million products that are priced 20 to 50% higher than the stores.

Personal and Confidential

This post really isn't all that confidential since thousands of people will read it but it is personal.  I just want to share a little glimpse into my life with my friends that read this blog.

I have had a crazy yet very productive start to the new year.  A ton of great people have entered my life and I have renewed some past partnerships that will help me move forward and make 2008 my best and brightest year ever.

In a couple of days, I will be leaving the country for a family trip to Thailand.  I will be bringing a laptop and I hope to find an internet cafe every now and then so that I can post some pictures and give you some updates.  If you know any Network Marketers who live in Thailand and would like to meet me, give them my web site: TyTribble.com and ask them to contact me.

A quick note about Network Marketing:

I believe that more people will make a solid profit in Network Marketing in the next 3 years than the previous 50 years combined.  There has never been a better time to build your business.  Lock in with a great company and focus on your future.

You Can Achieve Your Dreams!

- Ty Tribble

Orrin Woodward's Team Would Tear Up A Binary Plan

Fununltd I was in Phoenix over the weekend at a Network Marketing event with Todd Falcone, Jeffery Combs, Erica Combs and Michael Bernoff, where I met the owner of a Network Marketing company by the name of Michael Wenniger.  Wenniger owns Fun Unlimited which is actually being re-branded as I write this.  He has a much better name coming out soon. (I'll get you the new name once I have permission).

Anyways, I spent a few hours hanging out with Mike and talking about his company, a binary compensation plan with health and wellness products.  The biggest claim to fame for the company is their Power Pops which are candy that help people lose weight.  Chris Angel and Britney Spears have reportedly both used the candy.

The company also has a vitamin lollipop designed for children.  Pretty unique products that seem to be priced well,  (50 cents to one dollar for the weight loss and vitamin lollipops). They also have a skincare line and a new functional beverage coming out soon and they do not have an autoship requirement in order to get your check.

Now, I mentioned earlier that this company has a binary compensation plan and for those that are not clear on comp plans, a binary has two legs or teams.  Typically (not in every case) one of the legs or teams is called the "Power Leg" and is usually built by the leaders within the company, leaving others to focus on the lesser leg.

Orrin_woodward This type of compensation plan got me to thinking about Orrin Woodward's former Quixtar group called "The TEAM".  Let me say this...I don't agree with the amount of money that the TEAM charges it's members for training, but I can not argue with their ability to bring in numbers, especially into a deal as bad as Quixtar.

What I am driving at here is that if the TEAM were to apply their strategy (slightly modified) to a company like the one Mike Wenniger owns, they would tear it up.  The binary compensation plan is focused on depth.  Mike's plan also has some matching bonus money that could bring in huge checks.

I'm not trying to broker a deal here, just pointing out that the main problem with the TEAM is probably not the amount of money that they make on training, it was probably the company they chose to affiliate with.  If the TEAM were to build a binary with the numbers they bring in, a lot of people would be making money through products moving into the hands of consumers.

Is The Network Marketing Old School Dead?

Rip There has been a lot of talk recently about the death of "Old School" Network Marketing.  I have been a vocal proponent of "The New School" along with Kim Klaver for some time now but I sense that the topic is getting fuzzy.

When I talk about the "New School of Network Marketing", I am talking about less hype and more substance.  Some people have labeled the "New School", online marketing or Network Marketing 2.0 and they are throwing around terms like obsolete when referring to some methods like building in your warm market and in person meetings.

Here is the reality...I know a lot of people who still teach warm market and in person meetings and they make hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. In fact, one of the hottest companies in Network Marketing was reportedly in deep trouble before they found one leader who focused on getting the product into the hands of people and then getting the people to a meeting. As a matter of fact, I just thought of another company with a similar story.

Are things changing in the industry?  Of course they are, but that doesn't mean that the basics of the industry have changed.  We still move products through a network of people who make commissions on the sales of those products.

I am a big believer in Branding You, Web 2.0, Video, Funded Proposals and MLM Blogging, but if I saw a person at Starbucks with a high energy level and an attractive personality, I would talk to them!

It's all about Multiple Streams of Leads, including...

One of the things that I really think people miss is that this industry is still about relationships.  When I get a lead from something that I had done online, my goal is to get them on the phone with me as soon as possible.  If they are local to me, I will do my best to meet them face to face.  The tools offer me the ability to create a large number of leads, but the relationships hold the business together for the long term.

Is Larry Winters Leaving Quixtar?

File this in the MLM Rumor Mill until further notice, but I have heard and noticed some interesting search engine trends that suggest that Larry Winters might be preparing to pack up and leave Quixtar.

Some are speculating that Larry was watching the Orrin Woodward/Team lawsuits to see what happens before he takes his team to another company.  The main reasoning behind the possible move is apparently Quixtar's change back to the Amway name.

Again, this is only a rumor at this point, but we have been pretty accurate in terms of Larry Winters in the past when we broke the story about Larry Winters leaving Britt World Wide for his own system, LTD.

Update:

To be more specific, I have noticed that people are finding my web site by searching "Larry Winters Leaving Quixtar".  That doesn't mean that Larry Winters is leaving Quixtar, it just means that people are curious about that subject.  In no way, shape or form am I reporting that Larry Winters is leaving Quixtar.  For all I know people could have Larry Winters confused with Orrin Woodward.

Update 2:

A couple of people seem to be threatening legal action over this post.  This is a very simple process.  If the rumor is untrue, Larry Winters, or someone that works for Larry Winters can send me an email: mlmblog@mlmblog.net, telling me that the rumor is false.  I will immediately update the post to reflect the statement.

Update 3 (final update?):

After getting a couple of additional searches related to "larry winters new mlm", I did some additional investigation and found that Quixtar's IBOAI Board Blog has posted a response to this rumor (would have been neat if they had told me...oh well).

Here is the response:

Online rumors that Double Diamond Larry Winters is discontinuing his Quixtar business are completely false.  It's the kind of outlandish thing bloggers write when they have nothing substantive to say.

My response is that I can show proof that people are searching Google for "larry winters new mlm" and I am guessing that some of my readers think that is substantive. Again, I am not saying that Larry Winters is leaving Quixtar (or is it Amway?), just that I noticed search traffic and in that past, search traffic has been fairly accurate.

Live Phoenix, Arizona MLM Training Event

Phoenix, Arizona in mid-December sounds like a pretty nice place to be.

I will be in Phoenix on December 15th along with Jeffery Combs and Todd Falcone for an all day training event. One big insider secret I can tell you is that Todd Falcone is going to unveil a project that he has been working on for over 10 years.

So, if you want to kick off 2008 on a positive note, Jeffery and Todd might be a great springboard for you.

As a bonus for reading my blog (or subscribing to my newsletter), I will be doing an exclusive Internet Success Q & A session following the main training by Jeffery Combs and Todd Falcone.

Weather at my house is expected to be a High of 40 and a Low of 27, while Phoenix looks like a high of 70 and a low of about 50.

Let's see, hang out with million dollar Network Marketing producers for the weekend AND get see that round thing in the sky called a sun for the first time since I returned from Mexico?

Not a touch call.  See YOU in Phoenix.

Re: QBI Bonus and Founders Platinum Bonus

To whom it may concern,

We are writing you today to inquire about our Founders Platinum and QBI bonuses. To date, we have not received either of these bonuses. We have called your company several times to inquire about these bonuses. Each time we have encountered a similar response, “all bonuses affiliated with Team IBO’s are under review”. I didn’t realize the IBO’s affiliated with Team had different qualifications of those not affiliated with Team.

In May of ’07 my husband and I attended your Platinum Conference. We had a wonderful time, and your company laid out the red carpet for us. Your staff and the service went above and beyond to make our stay informative and enjoyable. We were informed there, by one of your staff members, that we were right on track for our QBI and Founders Platinum bonuses. According to our QBI tracking report for August of ’07, we are eligible for that bonus. To the best of my knowledge, 12 qualified months in 1 fiscal year also qualifies us for a Founders Platinum bonus.

We were independent business owners with your company for almost three years. As far as we know, we were business owners in good standing. Therefore, we fail to understand why you are holding our bonuses. As you know, the end of the year is rapidly approaching and we would greatly appreciate a response to this correspondence, in writing, which explains what exactly is being reviewed about our qualifications for these bonuses.

We appreciate your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Dominic & Terry Zettel

Subject: QBI Bonus

QBI money and trips are offered and paid at Quixtar's sole discretion. If you would like to appeal Quixtar's decision not to pay, you may seek conciliation through Quixtar's dispute resolution process.

Julie Savara

Are you serious?  Quixtar now pays it's IBO's at their discretion instead of actual qualifications.  What the hell?  How can any Quixtar IBO feel comfortable with that deal?

Quixtar and it's loyal IBOs are busy spouting off about the $60 million in new bonuses that the company has promised but from the looks of it, they can yank those bonuses out from underneath you at any time.

So much for the "best business opportunity in the world".

The Death Of Network Marketing? Free eBook Download Here

There is quite a bit of hoopla about a new eBook by Ellie Drake and Michael Filsaime called "The Death Of Network Marketing".

Here is the deal:  Network Marketing is not dead or dieing, in fact it grew by more than 1 million people in the U.S. in 2006.

To be honest, I haven't read the book yet, but I know for a fact that people will be searching for "The Death of Network Marketing" on Google and if people are going to be curious and download this book, I would like them to be curious and come here to see me.

The book is free and from what I understand, there is nothing else to buy. But you will not be finding the book here. Instead I am going to give you a different book and an invitation to subscribe to my newsletter that will give you all kinds of great tips about increasing the size of your bonus check.

Yup, I am using the hype of this "Death of Network Marketing" to promote a couple of things that I really believe in.  I did have a link to the Death book here at one point, but I took it down.

Remember, the only constant is change, but it would be silly to think that even the basics of Network Marketing is dead.

Find a great product that you believe in and give some of it away to people. You will find business.

Here are two free resources for you to enjoy in place of the death book:

Update: I made some edits to this post.

Ty Tribble Google Adwords MLM Coaching

I did a coaching session this afternoon for a couple of young ladies involved with a newer Network Marketing company called Zrii and they sent me a really cool note that I can't help but share.

I was pretty hesitant to offer coaching a couple of months ago, but with testimonies like this, I think I am going to have to continue...

We are high as a kite after our coaching session with Ty!  He turned us on to secrets to hone our Google Adwords campaign that would have cost us $1000s in trial and error had we tried to go it alone.  There are lots of teachers who can guide you on finding effective keywords, but network marketing is another animal completely.  Ty was incredible!  He was careful to understand our desired take-away at the end of the coaching, and it was obvious from the first minute that he wanted to exceed our expectations... let me tell you, he blew them out of the water!!  Thank you, Ty, for the invaluable direction!  We, your lifelong groupies now, will go forth and prosper!

Can Amway - Quixtar Be Built Online? Free Webinar

I got a call the other day from a Quixtar (soon to be called Amway again) IBO that was interested in using the Internet to create leads for his business.

Of course most Quixtar IBO's are looking to create business opportunity leads but that is a good way to waste time and money.  It's an uphill battle because really, who hasn't heard the 2-5 year financial freedom pitch?

If someone is searching online for a business opportunity, and you mention Amway, you are pretty much done at that point.

But I am always up for a challenge so I wanted to find an angle that would help this young man build his business. Even though I told him that other companies would be easier to build and more lucrative, he was set on Quixtar, so I set out to give him some free advice.

A friend who is well connected to Amway once told me that there are roughly 6 million former Amway/Quixtar IBOs in the U.S. and based on that number, one would assume that a handful of those people liked one or more of the products.

Ah ha!  A niche has been found.

Former Amway/Quixtar IBO's that liked a product or two, but their upline was a butt or they moved or for whatever reason, they stopped buying the product.

So here is what I am going to do: I am going to do a free one hour webinar that will show Quixtar IBOs how to build their business on the web by finding a product niche.

The free webinar has a limited capacity so it will be first come first served:

Magnetic Sponsoring 3.0

Magnetic While I was in Ixtapa, Mexico last week, Mike Dillard released his Magnetic Sponsoring 3.0 System. I haven't had a ton of time to go through the new site and information but I will fill you in on a couple of things that caught my eye...

  1. A complete system to track the leads that you create with Magnetic Sponsoring 3.0.
  2. 7 New Videos have replaced the original 10 email Boot Camp.  The videos are free and you can download them here: Mike Dillard's 7 Free Magnetic Sponsoring 3.0 Videos.
  3. The MagneticSponsoring.com forum is loaded with helpful and knowledgeable marketers, some of them earning Millions a year...and they are willing to answer your questions!

For those of you who have no idea what in the world I am talking about, let me give you a little bit of history.  Mike Dillard was involved in Network Marketing for several years and really struggled.  Then he discovered the world of Internet Marketing and was one of the first Networkers to put together a system known as a "funded proposal".

The idea is simple.  Give something away of value, (like 7 free training videos) but ask for some contact information in return.  Once you gain the contact information you can then offer a low cost (usually information based) product that will help you fund your proposal.

You take the money you make from the sales of the information product and fund your advertising.  It's a bit like having your leads pay you to be your prospects.

I used this type of system to create nearly 3,000 leads and over $9,000 over the last few months.

Your proposal is generally going to involve the Network Marketing company you are involved with, keeping in mind that not everyone who requests the information or buys the information product will be a potential business partner for you.

There are a handful of categories that people fall into:

  • Happy With A Good Company
  • Happy With A Bad Company
  • Unhappy With A Good Company
  • Unhappy With A Bad Company
  • No Company

I'll let you consider which ones would be good prospects for you to discuss your business with.

The 7 Magnetic Sponsoring 3.0 Videos will give you a great overview of Network Marketing on the Internet.  Again, you can get access to the free videos here: Mike Dillard's 7 Free Videos.

Keep Your Foot On The Gas

Happy Thanksgiving to all readers and supporters of the MLM Blog! This is a very exciting and busy time of year for people but for some reason network marketers tend to have clouded judgement and think that their business is winding down until after Christmas. Don’t be foolish! If you're a successful entrepreneur like say a Ty Tribble then you can take that well deserved time off but if you’re just starting out or you’re not making a six figure income yet in network marketing then you want to keep productive and keep your foot on the gas  through this time. The difference between a person that backs off and someone that really “hits it” at this point is that the hungry marketer will have a larger check.

Master What You’re Already Good At

Every single person that wants to be successful in a network marketing venture has something to offer even if they have no sales or marketing experience. If you are outgoing but not polished at presenting your ideas then use your personality and enthusiasm to get your message heard. If you are a good listener this is a huge asset as you can use that talent to gather information about a prospect. If you are shy then I suggest getting a simple script together and practice it until it flows and becomes an extension of your personality. Part of this business is personal development and we all come in with very different skill sets so “use what you have and learn what you don’t have” and move on with your business.

MLM Lead Capture Pages

Before I get into some nuts and bolts about lead capture pages, lets define what a lead capture page is.  A lead capture page is a web page designed specifically to capture a persons name and email address (or additional information).

Click here to view a sample lead capture page.

Most companies supply their distributors some sort of replicated web sites.

Click here to view a sample of a replicated web site (not mine).

If you want to use the Internet in building your business, I highly recommend creating a lead capture page. You can waste a lot of money by sending Google traffic to your replicated site.

Some companies do not allow their name to be used on your lead capture page, but don't worry.  You want to focus on the benefits and strong points of the company, not the company name.

So let's pick what I consider to be the most difficult to build company in the world and create a short capture page about Amway/Quixtar.

Why Roll The Dice With A Start Up Company That May Not Be In Business Next Week When You Can Partner With A Multi-Billion Dollar Company's New Launch?

Ready to get your piece of a $5 Billion Industry?

Fill Out The Simple Form Below and I Will Send You My Free Report About This Opportunity...

(End Sample)

I would probably go into a little more detail with some additional benefits and bullet points but the lead capture page isn't meant to convince anyone of anything.  It is simply meant to squeeze the name, phone number and email address out of the person reading.

If you are interested in creating a lead capture page and system to help you build your business online, check out my Internet Success Template Coaching.  I can walk you through the whole process and get you started on the path to creating your own leads without chasing down your neighbors, friends and relatives.

I also mention someone by the name of Bo Short, this is the first time in years that a training call with former Amway/Quixtar Diamond, Bo Short (the guy who made the "It's Called Practice tape/cd) will be available for anyone who wants to hear his training.

Good luck, the call is limited to the first 100 people who register!

Talk to YOU on Monday!

John Fogg, Kim Klaver and Me

Kim Klaver, John Fogg and I have been going round and round about the objection "I don't Have Time". Allow me to get you up to speed:

John wrote:

Me: "Boy (sorry...) girl... do I understand that one. May I ask you a trick question."

She:  "What kind of 'trick' question?"

Me:  "It'll be pretty obvious. I'm not devious enough. So, may I ask?"

She: "Sure."

Me: "If you knew (without a doubt) that six months from now you'd be earning at least $1000 a month from your network marketing business... would you be able to make the time?"

She: [Silence.]

Me: "I told you it was a trick question."

She; [Laughing] "Yes you did. Well... (thanks for asking) yes, of course, I would have the time."

Me: "So... can we speak about your doubt?"

She: "Sure... please."

And another prospect is transformed in to business-building butterfly.

Kim posted her thoughts here and here.

I posted some comments suggesting that there is no need for the trick question and that it was cheesey and shiester-esque. I'm guessing that Fogg didn't care much for that because he used the term dribble three times and fool twice (I think) in his response.

First let me say that I don't remember the last time that I got this as an objection. I am not trying to brag here, but it doesn't come up.  By the time people get to me, they are asking for change.

I should also mention that John Fogg and I speak occasionally and I am pretty sure that he would say that he likes me and I would tell you that I like him.  We don't have to agree on everything to be friends. John has some great resources on his blog and I am a regular reader.

So, the fool (that's me) will now "dribble" out (get it? Tribble - Dribble? heheheh) several  questions that could be asked of Fogg's prospect that are more suited for the Bill Gouldd-less Network Marketing in the 21st Century.

A potential business partner says:

"I don't have time"

Now here is what I would say...

"What makes you say that?"

But that is really getting ahead of the situation.  Before that kind of question would even come up (hopefully) you would have talked about what is important to the other person.

So if that question came up, you might say...

"Let me ask you this, if you had more time in your life, what would you do with it?"

You should know about a persons goals and dreams before any sort of "I just don't have the time" objection comes up.

So if I know of some specific goals I might ask...

"You mentioned that you would really like to (fill in the blank...volunteer more time, take more vacations, spend more time with kids, etc) do you feel like you will have the time to do those things if you do not initiate some type of change in your life?"

Do you see where I am going?  You don't need the implied income claim (If you knew (without a doubt)...$1,000). Even if you say that is it a trick question, it is really?

On the other hand, if you indeed helped people make $1,000 a month within 6 months, why not 3-way them in and let the other person tell them all about it, you and your help.

In that case you might say:

"I understand how you feel about time, in fact, I have a friend who had the same type of question when we started working together...can you hold on for a second?"

(3-way in your $1,000 earner) and then introduce them to each other and ask your $1,000 earner to share his story...

No claims and no mess.

Quixtar - Woodward Team Lawsuit Update

The folks over at the Alticor Media Blog have given me permission in the past to fully post information from their blog, so I am going to post the latest Quixtar - Orrin Woodward - TEAM lawsuit update in full as opposed to posting a fair sue portion of the post.

I said it before and I'll say it again.  Orrin Woodward, Chris Brady and the TEAM is in over their heads in this deal and because of that these so called leaders are placing the financial future of thousands of TEAM IBO's at risk. The TEAM IBO's will blindly follow and listen to the Woodward/Brady spin, but frankly they would be far better off either staying with Quixtar or quietly leaving to find a better company in the industry.

The post serves as an interesting update from the Quixtar/Amway perspective:

We respect perspectives. But they can’t hide facts.

First, the “new” Texas case mentioned in “Spaghetti.” This was a brand new case, with TEAM as the plaintiffs, attacking from a whole different angle than they did in California case. Dismissed.

The “other” Texas caseSimmons et al v. Quixtar will be heard de novo – “from the start” – by a new judge, though the previous judge recommended a preliminary injunction.

The California case. Still waiting.

The Michigan case:  Our preliminary injunction remains in effect, as does the preliminary injunction won by the IBOAI.

The TROs: By our count, TEAM’s class-action spammers filed for 18 restraining orders in nine different states:

  • One, the Simmons case, only has the recommendation for a preliminary injunction. But we’ll give them that one for now.
  • Seven were denied, withdrawn or have expired.
  • Ten have yet to be decided.

We would count that as one win for the spammers, seven losses, and 10 games still being played.

Orrin Woodward’s class-action ace D.J. Poyfair has been seen in courtrooms in Michigan, California and Texas. He has yet to attend a win.

TEAM trends:

  1. Fewer leaders. We’ve already commented enough on the dwindling number of plaintiffs in the California case. But you may want to read what Fred Harteis has to add to the discussion.
  2. Less transparency. When we were in Texas this week, in the course of one day we heard about TEAM; Signature Team Management LLC; Woodward International Networking Systems; and – our favorite – Signature Management Team, LLC, D/B/A TEAM, A Nevada Limited Liability Company.

Now, every corporation can get confusing if you sift through enough paperwork, ours certainly included. But in this instance, we don’t like the way Mr. Woodward’s name jumps in and out of the stack, depending on legal and PR needs. Does Orrin Woodward own these companies? Does he run them? Is he a part of them? Yes. No. Maybe so.

  3. More business. Or maybe less. There’s that line about “we’re going to a million.” And then there’s what TEAM CEO Robert Dickie and COO Thomas Maguire stated in their Texas affidavits about how business is going: “a deluge of product returns;” customers “calling wanting their money back;” “a significant decrease in tool sales;” attendance “has fallen and events have even been canceled.” Dickie and Maguire claim it is because of our actions; we can’t help but wonder whether attacking us as a pyramid and alienating countless former customers has anything to do with it.

Those are the facts, as best as we can gather them. We welcome your perspectives.

MLM Prospecting and Picking Up Women

Thepickupartist_2 My wife and I have been watching a crazy show on VH1 called "The Pick Up Artist".  It's about this guy named "Mystery" who takes a bunch of nerds and turns them into men who have mastered the art of talking with and picking up women.

What I find to be very interesting is that a lot of what "Mystery" teaches can easily be applied to Prospecting in Network Marketing.

Here are a couple of points:

  1. Assign value to yourself.  People view me as an expert in my field because I chose to be a professional instead of an amateur. Of course I know my "stuff" and I am a student of the industry and I study successful entrepreneurs, but I also have the posture and mindset that who I am and what I do is of very high value.

  2. When you are approaching someone in a face to face (3 foot rule) situati
