Life Path Unlimited vs. Liberty League

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

Lifepath Unlimited From Phoenix New Times:

In surfing around the Internet for our recent posts on Scottsdale's Liberty League International, we came upon a remarkably similar outfit -- also in Arizona -- called Life Path Unlimited. Life Path gives a "mailing address" of 37555 North Hum Road in Carefree.

Our two cents: It's another ripoff. Like Liberty League, Life Path Unlimited seems to hinge on getting you to buy motivational CDs and seats at conferences, all to teach you how to get people to buy the same thing. And so on.

Sure, you may get to walk on hot coals and listen to interesting motivational speakers, but you'll pay too much the privilege. Why? Because of the very thing they want to teach you. They want you to become, like them, excellent at verbally manipulating suckers with cold cash.

MLM - Network Marketing With Twitter

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

Twitter Unless you've been living under a rock and/or you're a Luddite you've at least heard of Twitter. And unless you're Ashton Kutcher you'd like more followers!

Last week I wrote a post called Twitter vs. Facebook where I recommended a product called Twitter Traffic Machine. It's an awesome product but it costs a bit of money so I thought I'd introduce you to a Twitter Tool that you can get started with for free.

It's called TwitterHIT and it's free to get started. With TwitterHIT you can find friends and followers fast on Twitter and it's totally automated.

Here's a short description of Twitter from About.com:

What is Twitter?

This brings us back to the original question. What is Twitter? It is many different things to many different people. It can be used by a family to keep in touch, or a company to coordinate business, or the media to keep people informed or a writer to build up a fan base.

Twitter is micro-blogging. It is social messaging. It is an event coordinator, a business tool, a news reporting service and a marketing utility.

There. That wasn't so hard, was it?

So check out TwitterHIT and happy Tweeting!

If you still don't know what Twitter is here's a cute, short video that explains Twitter:

Pre-Paid Legal Gets Sued for Legal Malpractice

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

Here's an ironic twist for Pre-Paid Legal...

From The Philadelphia Gay News:

Pre-Paid Legal Jonathan J. James, a local civil-rights attorney who’s handled many LGBT-related cases, has been sued for legal malpractice in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court.

Dr. Don Walter Kannangara, an infectious-disease specialist, contended James failed to give him adequate legal representation, resulting in the permanent suspension of Kannangara’s staff privileges at two local hospitals.

In a brief interview, Kannangara said his staff privileges at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Girard Medical Center in North Philadelphia were temporarily suspended in February 2007, after he complained about substandard and unsafe conditions at the hospitals.

Kannangara said some personnel at the hospitals failed to practice basic hygiene such as washing their hands with sanitizing lotion prior to treating patients.

He said incorrect lab results for patients resulted in serious medical errors. Additionally, he said, some patients with HIV were neglected and not given their medications. Conversely, unnecessary medical treatments were ordered for other patients, Kannangara told PGN.

The doctor said he notified various oversight agencies about his concerns, including the state Attorney General’s Office, the state Health Department and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, which certifies more than 15,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the U.S.

To his knowledge, no corrective action was taken at the hospitals, he said. “Instead, I was punished for making the complaints,” Kannangara said.

Beware Scammers Preying on the Elderly

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

This from the Wall Street Journal Online:

Elderly Scammed The first time a beloved relative in his mid-70s wired several thousand dollars to strangers, believing he was paying taxes on huge lottery winnings, it seemed like a fluke, a mistake he would understand once we straightened him out.

Then it happened again. And again.

In less than a year, this Ivy League-educated professional sent at least $23,000 to slick con artists who came to know his personal interests, as well as his bank-account, credit-card and other personal information. Yet even more shocking than how effectively and efficiently scammers won his trust and his retirement savings was how impossible it was to stop them.

His children and stepchildren counseled him, cajoled him and took him to task. Experts, lawyers and his doctor were consulted. Law-enforcement agencies, from the local police to state officials to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, were called. He agreed to give power of attorney to a son to help with financial matters. Yet he continued to send away money he couldn't afford to lose, fully expecting to see a huge reward in a matter of days.

"We never found a law-enforcement agency that cared," the son says. "To me, nobody gave a damn."

Our family's story is a cautionary tale in these tough economic times, when Internet, telemarketing and direct-mail con artists know that people of all ages are especially in need of a financial victory. Foreign lottery and sweepstakes scams are particularly effective with the elderly, especially those who have lost some mental capacity. The unemployed are susceptible to work-at-home schemes that call for upfront payments, but produce no jobs, while confident, highly educated professionals in their prime years regularly fall prey to investment frauds.

In a 2005 survey, the Federal Trade Commission estimated that 30.2 million U.S. consumers a year were victims of marketing frauds, led by bogus weight-loss products. Fraudulent foreign lottery schemes were second, reeling in more than three million victims a year, the agency estimated.

Twitter Versus Facebook

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

Twitter I'm not a huge Twitterer. Don't get me wrong...I tweet... It's just that  I've been focused more on some Facebook Groups...you can check out my Poetry Group at Facebook...it's the largest Poetry group on Facebook with over 10,000 members.

So when I heard about some guy named Bill Crosby making some serious dough on Twitter with something he called Twitter Traffic Machine I was intrigued. It really got me thinking about Twitter and how I could harness the power of tweets.

After trying a few things myself without a lot of success I remembered Bill Crosby and his Twitter Traffic Machine product. I looked it up and it didn't cost much so I thought why not...

And it worked...It's so simple...so effective...

It's not something I'd suggest you do with your primary Twitter account - I'd set up another account specifically for the Twitter Traffic Machine that relates to the product or service you're promoting. And go from there...

You can check it out at Twitter Traffic Machine.
