USANA Founder Launches New Website

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

Dr. Myron Wentz - founder of USANA - has launched a new website at www.drwentz.com. You can register to receive a weekly email from Dr. Wentz that will give you a first-hand look at Dr. Wentz' projects involving USANA, Sanoviv and the Children's Hunger Fund. As well, Dr. Wentz' will provide thoughts and insight on current events and health related issues.

USANA Website Here's an excerpt from the site that outlines some of Dr. Wentz' good work:

Over the past eight years, Wentz has traveled with CHF to poverty-stricken and war-torn areas in Central America, Eastern Europe and East Africa. In the summer of 2004, he traveled to northern Uganda, where he visited several impoverished refugee camps. One camp was home to 33,000 children for whom disease and malnutrition were a way of life. Driven to action by that experience, Wentz partnered with CHF to send food to the camp’s children and help families begin building homes and growing crops. In a year, malnutrition was reduced by 90 percent and the refugee population was reduced by more than 60 percent.

Fueled by this success, Wentz resolved to establish a state-of-the-art medical center for the diagnosis and prevention of disease in Uganda. Wentz not only provided the funding, he also personally selected and purchased all of the diagnostic equipment for the laboratory. Wentz and CHF opened the Wentz Medical Centre in Gaba, Uganda in August 2005. The state-of-the-art facility serves a community of 300,000 people, many of whom suffer from HIV/AIDS or have been orphaned by the disease. The facility provides both educational training and diagnostic care for women and children, including testing for malaria, HIV and intestinal viruses.

A second Wentz Medical Centre will serve children in Cambodia who have been affected by diseases such as malaria and HIV. Wentz continues to travel worldwide as a medical missionary for CHF.

USANA Contributes to Run For Taylor 5K

By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent

This from The Salt Lake Tribune:

Carter Dunn, 39, of Draper was sitting at work in April when his mother called him to tell him the news.

His great niece, Taylor Jaussi, was facing yet another heart surgery and more trying circumstances. Jaussi was born six weeks prematurely with a three-chamber heart and spent the first 44 days of her life in a hospital. At age 2, she received corrective surgery to separate the chambers of her heart.

But a complication from the surgery damaged a valve, causing it to leak, resulting in a second surgery that tried to fix the mitral valve. She has been limited in physical activity and relegated to medication ever since. With Jaussi's heart waning and the second surgery unsuccessful, a third operation to replace the mitral valve is necessary for the 10-year-old.

"When you hear news like this, you just feel helpless," Dunn said.

But what Dunn realized minutes later is that he had already put in place a giant support group for Jaussi only a month earlier without knowing it. Dunn is a fitness fanatic and an avid long-distance runner. From his passion, the B-12 Running Club was born in March. Preparing for the Salt Lake Marathon with a couple of friends, they decided to put together a 12-mile run in Bountiful.

Dunn smirks as he explains how the Bountiful Dozen turned into the B-12 and then garnered the slogan "Put a shot of B-12 in your life" and turned into a Facebook.com group with a mascot.

The Facebook group ballooned to over 60 members, with everyone posting their workouts and creating a positive arena for physical fitness. The day Dunn learned that Jaussi was facing more tribulations he realized that he had built a reservoir of supportive friends through B-12.

"I thought to myself, 'I can sit here and feel bad and helpless or maybe we can put together a run for her.'"

He ran the idea by a couple of work buddies who offered their services immediately. People began jumping on board left and right and, with the city of Draper's help, the Run for Taylor 5K was created and set for Draper Park on June 6 to raise money for Jaussi's medical expenses.

Barry Minkow is Full of Crap

Below is a snip from the latest Barry Minkow - Fraud Discovery Institute press release. I hope that what I am going to say does not come off as inconsiderate...if it does, I'm sorry.

There is not a person on earth that calls 200 leads per week and doesn't sponsor anyone. PERIOD. Those kinds of numbers will overcome any lack of skills. I don't even care what company you are with. Pick the company with the worst reputation, worst compensation and worst product line and you will still sponsor people when calling 200 leads a week.

SAN DIEGO/EWORLDWIRE/May 25, 2007 --- In the first of a two-part, new YouTube video release, the Fraud Discovery Institute details the story of Steve Estes, former Usana (NASDAQ: USNA) Associate (Number 2028731) from Temple, Georgia. Estes, who was born blind, became a Usana distributor in December of 2001 with hopes of attaining financial freedom and doing more than simply becoming a consumer of the company's product.

"Leaders in the company would work to persuade me that I was one associate sign-up away from true wealth," he said. "I funded minimum mandatory auto ship purchases in three business centers every year for four years before I cut back in year five to one business center."

Estes was committed to the opportunity presented to him: he poured his life savings, his time and went as far as taking out a second mortgage on his home to build up his Usana multi level marketing business. Despite regularly attending both regional and national conventions, purchasing multiple training tools and even leads - which required him to cold call potential associates at a rate of 200 per week - Estes was unable to sign-up distributors.
