Quixtar Success?

Just read this on former Quixtar Executive Diamond and founder of the TEAM, Orrin Woodward's blog:

My letter to Doug Devos clearly explains that over 600,000 people who speak English as a first language signed up into Quixtar in 1999 and 2000.  Out of these 600,000 IBO’s (misnomer?) only six achieved Founders Emerald or above by the end of 2004.  This is 4 to 5 years and only 1 out of 100,000 achieved $87,000 annual income from the plan with both the husband and wife working exhaustively.  Out of those six who achieved Founders Emerald by 2005, five were on the Team – Tim Marks (Founders Diamond), Doug Stroh, Mike Foos, Matt Abraham, Kirk Birtles were all founders emerald or above by the end of 2004. (I believe this is the five.)

If this is not true, Amway's legal team would be all over Woodward, leading me to believe that the statistics are true.

Bill Britt Responds to Quixtar - Amway Name Change

Crown_britt I am going to give you a link to an audio "Kate" message from Bill Britt regarding the name change in a second but I have some comments first.

Britt seems to be happy and positive about the name change, but I wonder, what choice does he have?  I don't see Bill Britt having many options outside of Amway/Quixtar at this point.  There are few companies that would put up with his (let's call it stuff).

The second thing that is interesting to me is that Britt suggested that Amway/Quixtar was about to double the bonuses paid to those below the diamond level.  I have been telling people for a long time that Quixtar has one of the worst compensation plans in the industry.  Of course, IBO's argue with me (and ignore the facts) until they are blue in the face.  Now Quixway is doubling the bonus money.  If they were paying out anything near the amount of money they should have been paying, there would be no way possible to double those bonuses. If they truly are doubling the bonus money, good for them and good for Quixway IBOs.

Stay tuned. We will of course report on all of the changes.

Here is the link to the Bill Britt Audio from The Truth About Amway site.

Quixtar Diamond Leaders Had No Idea Company Was Changing Name Back to Amway

According to the IBOAI web site, the high level IBO leaders (known as Diamonds) had no idea that the company was changing it's name back to Amway (from the IBOAI web site):

You should know this news came as a shock to us, too, in the form of a surprise announcement at a Founders Council meeting a few days ago. We were not consulted ahead of time and were not part of the decision. We are sorting through the details and trying to figure out how this affects all of our businesses.

It looks (to me) like more of these IBOAI leaders should spend a couple of minutes a day reading the MLM Blog.  I predicted that Amway was coming back over 6 months ago.

News and Links about Quixtar's Change to Amway

Less Alticor, No Quixtar = New Amway:

GRAND RAPIDS — While Amway remains a household name after more than 40 years, Quixtar still doesn't resonate with the public nearly seven years after its creation.

So direct-sales giant Alticor Inc. will phase out its Quixtar Inc. label during the next 1 1/2 to two years and rebuild its Amway Corp. brand in the United States and Canada.

There also will be less corporate use of the name Alticor, which represents a holding company.

Amway rebranding aimed to restore confidence:

Less sizzle. More sales.

That's the philosophy behind the return of Amway as the across-the-globe brand at the company known for seven years as Alticor Inc.

The privately held Ada Township-based direct sales giant will dump the 7-year-old Quixtar and Alticor names over the next 18 to 24 months.

Quixtar IBO Feedback on the Change Back to Amway

Here is some Quixtar IBO Feedback on the announced phase out of Quixtar and change back to Amway in North America (some names may be real, some are online nicknames):

The Big Apple:

This is the single best move you could have done!  I am so excited.

JaHn3tiC:

This is great news. I’ve always loved the Amway name because this business absolutely represents the “American Way.” Amway is a name to be proud of, not to hide. It represents courage, entrepreneurship, and creating wealth for all through a serious, legitimate business model.

Chillin77:

At first reaction, I must say that I am concerned and if you can bring more clarity to the reason behind this 'image infusion' it would be helpful.

Jeffery:

I am disappointed that we are bringing back the Amway name. It carries way more baggage than most people realize.

Jim Rinaldi:

I don't know what to think yet.  I was in the "old" Amway for a while, and vowed never to do that again, because of all the negative connotations.  Now so much of the same negative is associated with Quixtar, and I find myself in an LOA which heavily promotes "system" in its Open meetings, and never mentions the Quixtar name, much less Amway.

Jim Teller:

...IF QUIXTAR GOES BACK TO THE AMWAY NAME , I WILL LEAVE ASAP.

Bo (not the Bo you might be thinking of):

Please think twice before you do this. its going to be a disaster...90% of people got into the business because its not Amway. And they will quit because its Amway now.

I have put some feelers out to some high level IBOs, (an EDC and a Ruby) to see if I can get some of their opinions. So far, I haven't heard back. If you are a Ruby or above and would like to share your thoughts, you can email them to mlmblog (at) mlmblog.net (replace the (at) with @ and no spaces). You have my word that I will post your comments anonymously and I will never reveal you as a source unless you want me to do so.

Quixtar Letter to Diamonds - Here Comes Amway

The following is a letter sent to Quixtar North America Diamonds and above. I got a copy from the Inside Quixtar Blog. Enjoy...

Quixtar committed to helping IBOs grow through transformation of North American business

We are ready to transform the Quixtar business, and we need your help.

Starting today, we are putting more ideas, more innovation, and more money into our North American business than ever before.

We are doing it to make your businesses bigger than ever before, and to make the business more attractive to prospects and consumers than ever before.

This transformation will make the business more dynamic, competitive, and financially rewarding than it has ever been.

Starting September 1 – and going forward from now on – you will see from us:

1.    The infusion of more than $60 million in new bonuses and incentives ensures that we will continue to offer the best compensation in the industry.

2.     A rush of better and more competitive products to generate consumer demand.

3.     The introduction of revolutionary new products that tap into consumer trends.

4.     The increased ability to coordinate with international markets.

5.     Unprecedented investments in marketing, promotion, and media advertising.

6.     An additional investment in excess of $200 million in support of the North American business.

We are going to work together to do more to support our business owners than ever before. Everything you and your teams have learned from Quixtar since 1999 will now be joined with the immense success and name awareness of Amway around the world. The combination will be incredibly powerful for those people who are looking to build a business of their own.

Amway is already a $5 billion company in other markets. When the transformation process is complete, we will launch the new Amway in North America and (as many of you have heard) transition to the Amway name.

The convergence of Amway with Quixtar’s $1 billion business will give us real momentum. And during the interim, we will continue to enhance and support the current business model.

At the same time, the new Amway will be gathering force over the horizon. When we launch that name into the North American market, we will have created the best business opportunity any of us have ever seen.

We will stay in direct and regular contact with you through every step of the transformation. We will give you the information you need to persuade and excite your teams. And we will seek your advice and input every step of the way.

We are looking forward to transforming this business – together.

Please stay tuned to the Opportunity Zone blogs (www.opportunityzone.com) for further details and updates, and please contact us with questions or concerns.

Jim Payne

Executive Vice President and Managing Director

Quixtar Inc.

I have a feeling Bill Britt is looking for his heart medication about now.

My Theory on Amway and Quixtar in the U.S.

OK, this is pure speculation and theory...so feel free to poke holes in it and come up with your own.

Here is what will happen with Quixtar in the U.S.:

1. Alticor will sell Quixtar to a group of IBO Leaders.

2. Alticor will relaunch Amway in the U.S.

3. The Amway core products SA8, LOC and Nutrilite will stay with Amway.

4, XS Energy Drink Products and the partner stores will stay with Quixtar. (For those that don't know, XS Energy Drink is owned by a WWDB Triple Diamond)

Amway will train it's own IBOs. Quixtar will allow the IBO leaders to continue with their training systems.

If I were Amway, I would launch an energy drink or liquid nutritional product that is a little better, stronger and faster than XS, ASAP.

What do you think?

Team5K No Longer an Accredited Quixtar Training Program

"Sources" are suggesting that Team5K is no longer an accredited IBO Organization, leaving only Markerman and eFinity as accredited IBO Organizations.

Missing from the accredited list are some of the largest groups within Quixtar:

WWDB - Puryear/Duncan and Co.
BWW - Britt's Team
LTD - Winters Team
TEAM - Orrin Woodward and Co.

If you are thinking about signing up with Quixtar, it might be a good idea to find out if the group you plan on joining is accredited, especially given the recent sanctions Amway, (Quixtar's sister company), imposed on IBO's in the UK.

Amway UK is a warning to Quixtar IBO Leaders

As promised, here are some comments about the Amway UK IBO sanctions:

I am assuming at this point that you have read about the Amway UK IBO sanctions. If you haven't read about them, click the link above and then come back and post your opinions.

Amway UK is a small market for Alticor, (Amway/Quixtar's parent company) so the monetary affect of these sanctions is not huge on the overall volume of the company.

My personal opinion is that this is a shot over the bow of Quixtar in the U.S. This is about Alticor showing the IBO Leaders (Britt, Winters, Puryear, Woodward, Yager, etc) that the company is serious about cleaning up the training and tools mess.

If the old school tools boys don't clean up their act, it is now apparent that the company will step in and clean house.

But...(you knew that was coming, didn't you?)

But, Quixtar is not nearly as lucrative as an opportunity if you remove the tools income that begins in many cases at the Platinum level. I would even go as far as saying that the tools income is what keeps Amway/Quixtar leaders from leaving for a different company with a better compensation plan.

Quixtar pays out roughly 30% back to it's IBO base, yet the average of the top 30 companies in the industry is roughly 37% payout. Why would IBO Leaders stick around Amway/Quixtar for years when there is more money to be made elsewhere?  It's all about the secondary business of books, CDs, seminars, voice mail, and web sites, collectively know as the tools business. Take away the tools business and Quixtar Leaders are paid 20%  (a conservative number) less than leaders in other companies for the same volume.

The IBO leaders are in a bit of a bind. They clean up their act or the leaders keep on trucking and Quixtar comes in and cleans up. Either way the leaders stand to lose a lot of money.

Will all of this be better for the individual Amway/Quixtar IBO? Probably. Would the individual Quixtar IBO be better off by finding a new opportunity at this point? Probably. I would be willing to bet that BIG TIME IBO leaders are already looking around at other opportunities.

I said this about USANA and it applies to Quixtar at this point as well. The company will survive all of this, but it will get worse for the typical IBO before it gets better.

Update: I re-read the letter and noticed that this UK action is in response to "serious concerns raised" by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). That has me wondering whether Amway would have done anything if not for a pending crackdown by the DTI.

Your comments and theories are welcome...

WWDB - Quixtar Comment of the Month

The following is a comment from here at the MLM Blog. See if you can pick out the funnies...

Katie writes:

First of all I feel very sorry for all you people who spend your lives on here trying to find faults in a imperfect world. These sites are not credible, because the grammer is one thing. Secondly, there is no way to contact the creator...who so boldy bashes quixtar and wwdb. Get a life.

Quixtar Dateline NBC on YouTube (2 Parts)

Thousands of true believers gathered in celebration at arenas across the country, all convinced they've found the true path to success, to wealth beyond their wildest dreams. The promises are golden, fueling dream they do -- of luxury homes, fancy cars, yachts and private planes. So who are all these people and what are they so worked up about?

The people are distributors for a company called Quixtar, which says it's had $3 billion in sales since 1999. They say the company's special formula for success has made them rich. But their main purpose here is to tell all these thousands of other distributors that they can do it, too.

Quixtar: A Billion in Sales

Quixtar Reports Fourth Consecutive Year of Billion-Dollar Sales

...said the recent press release.

Here is my question.

Is that good?

Quick answer is yes. A billion in sales is great.

Next question.

Is that good for newest Quixtar IBOs?

Quick answer is no. Zero growth is zero growth whether the volume is $1,000 or $1,000,000,000.

I talk to people about Network Marketing every day and many people ask me why I am so hard on Quixtar. I think the answer lies in the fact that the IBO leaders make it sound like Quixtar is a growing business...a great business for the newest person that wants to take charge of his/her destiny. The reality is the growth is stagnant and the sales numbers prove it.

If you are a high level Quixtar leader and your sales go from $20 Million to $19.9 Million, you are still doing OK, but if you are Joe IBO who just got started and your sales go from 200 PV to 199 PV in a year, you have a problem.

There are dozens of growing and stable Network Marketing companies in this industry, Quixtar just doesn't happen to be one of them and based on the lawsuits hanging over it's head, I don't see it turning around in the near future.

Growth in Quixtar - WWDB

I just saw an interesting observation about the number of Diamonds listed on the WWDB.biz web site.

A billion in sales is certainly something to be proud of but real growth within Quixtar's various teams can best be tracked by the number of new (and qualified) diamonds.

WWDB, led by Ron Puryear along with Greg and Brad Duncan are an interesting example of evaporating diamonds.

Here is an archive view of the list of diamonds a year ago. (30 Diamonds and above)

Here is a view of the current page. (25 Diamonds and above)

What you might find even more interesting is that every one of the diamonds on the current page has been involved with Amway/Quixtar for at least 10-15 years (some much longer and I'm not sure about Mike and Barb Popovich).

If the company volume is up 1%, down 1%, then up 2% the next year and the training system teams (BWW, TEAM, WWDB) are not breaking new diamonds, what do you think that says for the viability of the opportunity from a new persons standpoint?

New Lawsuit Against Quixtar, WWDB, BWW, Britt and Puryear

I just found out about a new lawsuit against Quixtar, Britt World Wide and World Wide Dreambuilders.

Here is a link.

I will post more details soon.

Update: This appears to be a class action lawsuit which (I think) means that hundreds of thousands of people may be able to take part in it.

Amway - Quixtar Antitrust Lawsuit Update

Kansas City Star via MLM Business Opportunities:

Plaintiffs in a massive antitrust action against Amway Corp. overcame another hurdle this week in their long quest to get their case heard by a jury.

A federal judge on Monday refused to dismiss all but one of eight counts against the company, finding that the plaintiffs’ allegations were legally sufficient to support claims of price fixing, conspiracy and other charges.

U.S. District Judge Richard E. Dorr agreed to dismiss only a civil racketeering claim, ruling that it failed to establish “a pattern of racketeering activity.”

“We are obviously pleased with the ruling,” said Kansas City lawyer Dan Boulware, who represents several Amway distributors, including Nitro Distributing Inc. of Springfield and two distributors in St. Joseph. “All of our claims survived with the exception of the racketeering claim, which was a new claim we had recently added, and the judge kept the door open for that.”

WWDB Diamond, Samir Attalah has 500 People in His Group

Here is a quote from Quixtar/WWDB Diamond Samir Attalah:

My wife and I have been involved in the Quixtar business for over 17 years, we have been very successful due to much hard work. This is our sole source of income and we live very comfortably. We have about 500 people in our business.

Samir was my upline in Amway and Quixtar.

500 people in 17 years of 5-7 nights a week of work?

That's less than 30 people a year.

Samir lives in a multi-million dollar home so he seems to be doing OK, but I wonder how well the people that have been with Samir for 17 years are doing.

How Much Does BWW or WWDB Charge for a DVD?

As I wrote about earlier, Quixtar is in the tools business, seemingly competing with WWDB and BWW for IBO tool dollars.

Quixtar anti-trust issues aside, what is interesting is the price that Quixtar is offering a 2 DVD set...

Quixtar:

Quixtar and the Independent Business Owners Association International (IBOAI) Board have collaborated to bring you this Quixtar Straight Talk Bundle, a powerful, two-disc set that tells the Quixtar and IBO stories in a factual and straightforward manner. You’ll get two discs:

  • “The Facts About Quixtar” DVD
  • A thisbiznow.com DVD

There’s a lot of information out there about Quixtar, but these two discs offer something that’s becoming a bit of an endangered species on the web: the truth.

2 DVD Package: $3.00 (No that is not a typo. it's really 3 bucks, not $30)

WWDB is NOT an accredited Quixtar Line of Sponsorship

Have you heard of Quixtar's Professional Development Accreditation Program?

Britt World Wide and World Wide Dreambuilders are not accredited.

Neither is Larry Winter's LTD or Jody Victor's Markerman.

What about Network 21, TEAM, ILD, INA, Interbiz, Biznet, and Internet Services?

No. Nyet. Nope. Uh-uh. Naw. No way. Not.

Quixtar's PDAP. Coming to a Quixtar website soon.  If I were you, I would call Quixtar and ask them if your team is accredited. Then I would call your upline and ask them why they are not accredited by Quixtar.

Don't you want to be working with a team that is accredited?

Update: Markerman has been accredited.

Why no Bill Britt in WWDB Functions?

In June of 2004, WWDB leader, Ron Puryear sent out a voicemail message about the retirement of Bill Britt.

Here is portion of the transcript from Quixtar Blog:

The diamonds had a meeting with Bill Britt at "Go Diamond" this past January where he mentioned that he was thinking of retirement. In fact, Bill and Peggy have decided that was the last function they would do for World Wide Dream Builders, and they have decided to retire from this business.

Britt_102502Of course it wasn't mentioned that a week before the WWDB scripted voicemail information had surfaced about Bill Britt alleged affair with another woman and his separation from Peggy Britt, his wife of many years. This lead some to speculate that Britt wasn't really retiring from WWDB, but was forced out instead.

Crown_brittBritt supporters are quick to point out that Bill and Peggy are now seen together on stage at major functions which would make it pretty clear that Britt is now back out of retirement.

However, there is still no sign of Britt at any WWDB functions, where he was a mainstay at WWDB FED's for years.

This leads me to a question or two...

Why hasn't Bill Britt been invited back to WWDB functions?

If Britt was simply retired, why was his name removed from Ron Puryear's web site and why have his tapes been removed from the WWDB system?

MCI Fires Quixtar?

Yes, for all those Quixtar distributors bragging about all the great reputable companies that have signed up to be Quixtar partner stores, here is one for you..........

Dear Independent Business Owner,

The combination of technological and regulatory changes in the telecommunications industry, along with the recent acquisition of MCI by Verizon, has initiated policy changes in the newly merged company. Verizon has decided to terminate partnerships between MCI and other companies. Effective July 1, 2006, this will impact the Quixtar Partner Stores & Services partnership with MCI.

As a subscriber or an IBO with customers who subscribe to MCI, it is important to note the following as a result of this change:

* The termination of MCI as a Quixtar Partner Store & Service will not interrupt current subscribers’ phone service.

* IBOs will continue to earn PV/BV credit for existing MCI service through Quixtar Partner Stores & Services until July 1, 2007.

* The final day to sign up for MCI service through Quixtar and earn a 125 PV/BV sign-up bonus is June 30, 2006.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage you and your customers to explore alternative wirelss and broadband services available through Quixtar Partner Stores & Services.

Sincerely,

The Partner Stores & Services Team
Quixtar Inc.

Quixtar's Founder's Council

What is the Founders Council? Quixtar’s elite Founders Council is comprised of the top seven IBO-ships in North America. Folks… it doesn’t get much more elite than that! The members of this council have stood the test of time; built enormous, thriving businesses; and continue to set the standard for the business today.

In November 2005, the Founders Council gathered in Pinehurst, North Carolina for a four-day brainstorming session with Alticor’s president, Doug DeVos, and Chairman Steve Van Andel. Of course, being in Pinehurst… we can be pretty sure a little golf might have made its way onto the agenda!

The illustrious members of Quixtar’s Founders Council are: Bill and Peggy Britt; Paul and Leslie Miller; Dexter and Birdie Yager; Tim Foley; Ron and Georgia Lee Puryear; Brad and Julie Duncan; and Jim and Nancy Dornan.

With business leaders like this at the helm, every IBO can rest easy knowing that the best of the best are taking care of business!

Update: I removed a photo from this post because I am told that it was property of Alticor.

World Wide Dreambuilders - WWDB

In light of the recent meeting between Dick Davis, Brad Duncan and Preston of the Quixtar Blog, I thought I would share some of my thoughts about WWDB.

I was involved with WWDB, personally sponsored by Diamond, Samir Attalah and one deep from Triple Diamond, Brad Duncan. I resigned in 2003 from Quixtar and WWDB.

If I was forced to join Quixtar and utilize an existing system to build it,  I would re-join WWDB, (probably downline from Brad Wolgamott). I have spoken with hundreds of current and former Quixtar IBOs and based on those conversations as well as my own experience, I conclude that WWDB is probably the best training system in Quixtar.

However, if I was a leader within WWDB, I wouldn't puff out my chest too far. Too many people still lose money and too few people are having success.

Pennies and Dollars

Brad Duncan used to tell people that he didn't make pennies until you (the IBO) made dollars. I later found out that the statement was not true during a private meeting.

At the meeting, Brad compared his income to the contract of a professional basketball player who just signed for $85 Million.

Here are the different income streams Brad talked about:

Communikate Voicemail Money?
Yup.

Tape/CD Money? You Bet. Even going as far as saying that "Bill Britt is not going to live forever and once he is out of the picture, there will be more money for WWDB diamonds".

Seminar and Meeting Money? Oh Yeah.

Web Site Money? Yes.

Book Money? You got it.

Quixtar Product Money? Never brought up. Not once, in three hours!

WWDB has made some baby steps towards progress but it's not enough.

If Quixtar is really a great opportunity, why doesn't WWDB run without profit?

Yes, train the WWDB associates to build a profitable business at cost.

I don't think that the true purpose behind WWDB is to train it's associates. I think that the true purpose is to make money.

I won't hold my breath for real non-cosmetic (yes, Premier program is cosmetic) changes to the WWDB system. Even through WWDB may be the best of the Quixtar training systems, the WWDB Diamonds still make A LOT of money on the system.

The reality is that Quixtar is not a very good opportunity, and the only way Quixtar Diamonds live the lifestyle they do is because of system money.

WWDB Product Pick Up

Unquixotic

Who offers it?

CompUSA, Albertson's, Amazon (via Circuit City & Borders), Linens 'n Things, Circuit City, Best Buy, Wal-Mart (limited products), PartsAmerica, HP's Snapfish (via Walgreens), and Sears to name a few.

Oh yes, and your friendly neighborhood WWDB IBO affiliated with Quixtar.

Amazon in particular specifically set out to form product pickup agreements with Borders and Circuit City in order to offer the service, and HP did the same for their Snapfish agreement with Walgreens.

Who takes advantage of it?

According to Forrester Research, who considers the practice a trend for "Advanced multichannel retailers," those using the service are NOT Luddites:
"73% are technology optimists, and they spend 44% more online than the
average consumer . . . In-Store Pickup Users Are Savvy Online Buyers"

Fred, the WWDB Platinum

Quixtar - E.D.D.:

Fred is your platinum in WWDB. Fred gets $7 for every Premiere member in his group.

Fred recruits you. Fred gets you “fired up” on the system. Fred encourages you to get others, then get them “fired up” on the system.

You recruit 5 people who get on premiere. Fred is now making 6 x $7 = $42, not counting profit on CDs, as well as the Quixtar related PV / BV Bonuses.

Now, you’re taking advice from Fred, and you say, “Fred, I have 5 people in my group and my net income for the past 3 months has been negative $300 a month.”

Fred replies, “Buy more CDs, recruit more IBOs and get them on Premiere.”

Do you think Fred is serving you or do you think Fred is serving you a load of crap?

WWDB Quixtar Training Baby Steps

This appears to be a step in the right direction. I still have to wonder why all WWDB CD's are not available for free MP3 download. WWDB pays lip service to the free download model by offering 5 minute clips. The only logical explation for the lack of free downloads is the CD and membership profit enjoyed by the leaders of WWDB.

The post below also suggests that CD's are $2.50 through WWDB. Let us not forget that when you include WWDB membership in the equation, standing order CD's are more expensive now than before the price reduction.

Unquixotic:

The Web Tour module, a secure Powerpoint-style presentation used as an introduction to World Wide's Private Franchise business model, enables IBOs to expose their business to prospects via phone and the web in a brief, professional, standardized manner. Alternately, a printout of the presentation may be used to make it accessable to the no- or low-tech level of either prospects or IBOs.
Either method will allow IBOs to identify potential business partners, regardless of distance, technology levels or scheduling challenges. (Web tour presentation time is 10 minutes or less.)

The Web Training module, complimentary to the Web Tour, enables IBOs to train their registered business partner IBOs via web & 1-on-1 or conference call phone sessions regardless of distance or technology levels. The Web Training module includes existing training documents previously available via the WWDB website, all-new training documents relating to the use of the Web Tour and Web Training modules and the outlining of a clarified business game plan to help IBOs take advantage of all the recent business-enhancing developments from World Wide Group. Again, printouts of the documents can be mailed or faxed to be made accessable for no- or low-tech IBOs.

Also included in each section of the Web Training business plan outline are Audio Tips-- averaging at about 5 minutes each in length, the MP3-format audio training files are by WWDB leaders are related to each topic section of the outline. WWDB CDs are cross-referenced per topic for more in-depth training. (WWDB CDs are priced at as little as $2.50 each, for Premier Member IBOs.)

Quixtar/Amway Science Experiment

ScienceThis is a quick and easy science experiment you can do at home to see if Quixtar is any different than Amway.

Supplies:

1. Glass of water

2. An unused Starbucks coffee cup

Experiment:

1. Take a drink of the water from the glass.

2. Pour the water from the glass into the Starbucks coffee cup.

3. Take a drink from the Starbucks coffee cup.

Did the water change into something other than water when it was poured into the Starbucks coffee cup?

It's still water, isn't it?

So, if you take the same products, same compensation plan, same people and same training and move the product ordering from the phone to the internet, what do you have?

Answer: The same business.

Quiet Quixtar blogs lead me to Classic WWDB gibberish

All seems quite on the Quixtar Blog front, so my deeper search for Quixtar reading led me to a blog titled "Homeschooling our Tourette's Kid" and a post titled Quixtar is Amway!

In the comment section of the post, I found this gem from a World Wide Dreambuilders IBO:

The bottom line now is that the ecommerce aspect of the Quixtar business is in the right place at the right time, and is growing substantially.

Do you know the sound you make when something like a bit of cracker gets caught in your throat? Go ahead. Make that sound now. Kaahhhhfffkkk. I think that's close to the correct spelling. That is the sound I feel compelled to make when another Quixtar IBO spouts off about growth.

Let's clear two things up:

1. Quixtar is not growing.

2. WWDB (World Wide Dreambuilders) is not growing.

More volume and more people going diamond would suggest growth. Less people going diamond, less volume means no growth. OK?

Another Spokeperson for Quixtar/WWDB

A couple of weeks ago, I posed the following question:

I am wondering...how many Diamonds did BWW, WWDB and the TEAM break in December? Anyone?

Here is the recent answer I got from Michael aka "webbmentor", a WWDB associate who runs a blog called Instant Franchise:

Ty,

Actually there were 5 new diamonds

5 WWDB new diamonds (Quixtar only FYI)

Hal and Ann golden

http://golden.wwdb.biz/

Jim and Julie Harstad

http://harstad.wwdb.biz/

Bob and Shelly Kummer

http://kummer.wwdb.biz/

Scott and Chris Harimoto

http://harimoto.wwdb.biz/

Ed and Karen Grosboll

http://grosboll.wwdb.biz/

There are several hundred new korean affiliated WWDB diamonds- but those are tied into Leonard and Ester Kim

http://kim.wwdb.biz/

Hmmmm. Interesting. Michael claims that all of these Diamonds are new. Yet, I was personally at the F.E.D. (convention) in the 90's when Golden, Harstad and Harimoto went Diamond, 1996, 1993 and 1994 respectively. Grosball and Kummer went Diamond in 2002-3. You can confirm the dates by looking here. As far as Korea goes, they are not in Quixtar, they are in Amway and if they are breaking Diamonds by the hundreds, it does not seem to be rubbing off on their American counter-parts.

I would like to say that I don't get it, that I can't understand how someone in WWDB could be so confused, except that I completely get it. They want you confused.

WWDB has broken 5 new qualified Diamonds in the last 10 years, and not a single one of them got started after 1995, in fact all WWDB Diamonds were at least at the Emerald level in 1995. In other words, not a single person that was not an Emerald in 1995 has attained the Diamond level in the World Wide Group, ever.

Are you still fired up?

Your Success in WWDB - World Wide Group

How are you doing with the World Wide Group?

When I was digging into my WWDB line of sponsorship for my last post, I took a couple of minutes to look at the current Diamonds in World Wide. I looked at the names and tried to think of when each couple went Emerald and Diamond and I tried to guess what year that got in to Amway. Yes, I said Amway, because every single one of them had been involved with Amway before it changed it's name to Quixtar.

After thinking about it for a while, my curiousity peaked and I decided to look into the Pin Winners section of AmQuix.info to see if I could find the exact dates that each WWDB Diamond hit Emerald and Diamond.

Here is what I found:

  • Every single Diamond listed on the WWDB site (that I found information for*) went Emerald before 1995.
  • The latest couple to go diamond (The Kummer's - Emerald 1992) went diamond in 2003 (no one from 2004 to present is listed).
  • Of the 20 diamonds that I found information for, 6 went Emerald before 1989, 7 went Emerald from 1990-1992 and 6 went Emerald from 1993-1995.
  • Of the 20 Diamonds that I found infromation for, 2 went Diamond in 1984-1985, 3 went Diamond between 1990-1991, 5 went Diamond between 1992-1993, 5 went between 1994-1995, 2 from 1996-2000, 1 in 2001 and 1 in 2003.

Based on this information, WWDB has only 4 qualified new Diamonds in the last 10 years!

*note: I did not find information on Puryear, Severn, Felber, Hawkins, or Nelson because they more than likely pre-dated this information. For whatever reason, a handful of other diamonds did not show up on the Amquix site.

If you are not finding the results you had hoped for, it might be time to look for an alternative to Quixtar and World Wide.

Quixtar Diamonds vs. Oasis Diamonds

I just received a list of the new Oasis - Univera LifeSciences Diamonds that "broke" in December.

My line of sponsorship in Univera LifeSciences looks like this:

John Terhune - Blue Diamond
Marshall Douglas - New Blue Diamond
Bo Short - New Diamond

John Terhune's business which includes Marshall and Bo, broke 2 new Blue Diamonds (similar to an EDC or Double Diamond in Quixtar) and 3 new Diamonds in December.

I am wondering...how many Diamonds did BWW, WWDB and the TEAM break in December? Anyone?

Quixtar Diamonds Join Univera LifeSciences

It was reported that a number of Quixtar diamonds are defecting to Univera LifeSciences. I will keep you posted, but the list appears to be growing.

The 9 Steps of CORE in WWDB and BWW

From the MLM Blog Archives:

When I was first involved with Amway, we had a communication voicemail system called "Amvox". Amvox was a product provided by Amway and was not part of the 8 CORE steps that were required in order to succeed in Amway, according to the Britt and World Wide Group System. Amvox was not vital but was suggested.

Then one day, BWW and WWDB decided it was a good idea to come out with "their own" voicemail system called Communikate. Communikate was a definite upgrade from Amvox, but for the most part is still served the same purpose. Typically the upline used the voicemail system to send out a message telling everyone how important the next meeting is and how important the major function is and how great the standing order tape is.

Once Communikate was rolled out, voicemail became the 9th CORE step!

I was told specifically by a founders triple diamond in WWDB that the diamonds "make a lot of money on Communikate".

All of a sudden when the voicemail system is lining the pockets of the diamonds, it becomes vital to your success. Interesting.

The Quixtar Rules vs The System

From the MLM Blog Archives:

Did you know that WWDB aka World Wide Dreambuilders aka World Wide Group LLC. violate Quixtar rules every time they talk about "the system" to anyone that is not personally sponsored?

Did you know that when a A Quixtar team Platinum talks to one of his downline (not personally sponsored), about CD's, that he is violating a Quixtar rule?

Ever have a Britt World Wide - BWW leader talk to you about the importance of Communikate? You guessed it. RULE VIOLATION, unless he is your immediate upline.

Here are the rules:

4.14. Other Selling Activities: No IBO who personally sells products other than the Corporation's products, who personally sells literature or sales aids not produced by the Corporation, or who sells services (e.g., tax services, insurance, investments, etc.) will induce another IBO whom he has not personally registered to sell such products, literature, sales aids, or services, or shall he or she offer to sell such products, literature, sales aids, or services to any IBO except those personally registered by him or her. Induce means persuade (to suggest or attempt to persuade) another IBO whether or not this is done to obtain revenues or for any other reason.

IBOs may engage in other selling activities related to non-Corporation-approved or non-Corporation-produced products and services if they personally desire to do so, but they may not take advantage of any activity organized to promote the Corporation's products or the Corporation, or any other IBO's efforts or resources, or of their knowledge of, or association with, other IBOs, especially those not personally registered by them, to promote and expand their other selling activities. To do so constitutes an unwarranted and unreasonable interference in the business of other IBOs. This does not mean, however, that an IBO regularly engaged in the operation of a gasoline station, repair garage, retail establishment, barber or beauty shop, or a professional service (law, medicine, dentistry, or accounting) may not serve clients or customers who are IBOs and have sought them out, but it does mean that such IBOs may not actively solicit the patronage of other IBOs who are not personally registered by them.

4.14.1. This section also applies to privately developed Business Support Materials ("BSM").

The Green River Killer was in Amway

I try to read The Seattle Times online every couple of days. It's the newspaper that I delivered as a kid growing up in South Seattle. A few minutes ago as I was reading this story about Gary Ridgeway, the convicted Green River Killer, and the King County Sherriff that pursued him for over 20 years, a couple of paragraphs jumped out at me and sent a chill up my spine.

Ridgway's killings slowed after 1985, when he met his third wife, Judith. He told Reichert she was the most stable thing in his life.

About the time he met Judith, he also began going to church and selling Amway products.

"You had to care about people, you know," Ridgway said. "That was in one of the books and some of her seminars we went to. When you start caring about people, ... it helps in your business.

"I started caring about the prostitutes. I started caring about the woman I was going with and ... plus the scare of the Green River Task Force coming down on me."

(emphasis added)

The prevalent group in Seattle and the Northwest is World Wide Dreambuilders or WWDB, also called the World Wide Group. This is the group I was involved with.

I wonder what group the Green River Killer was involved with?
